Leniency for the SCAMMERS, this is, SCAM HAVEN, because the perps still don't get, punished severely enough, this LOSER only got less than two and a half years for his letting up his account for the scam rings to use…and the Tsai government boasts on the results of cracking down on the scams??? Yeah right, tell that to the victims (oh wait, they're, ENABLERS), of these, crimes, and some of them lost their home, their assets, and now, they're, without, because of their own, STUPIDITY!!! On Crime and NO punishment here, on how easily it is, to get way with, scams in this, country here…off of the Front Page Sections, translated…
The man, Huang graduated out of the police academy, but did NOT pass the certification exam, couldn't work as a police officer, in 2021, he was charged as an accomplice of a scam ring, offered up his bank accounts, and his virtual currency accounts to the ring to launder money, and made over $190,000N.T. per month, on the first trial, he was sentenced to two years four months. Huang filed for an appeal using the claims that he had a psychological condition, but the judge found, that other than providing his account for the ring to use, he'd also, taught the scam artists, how to work the system, to reduce their risks, there was NO proof of his not knowing what he was doing was wrong, tossed back his, appeal.
The investigators found, that the twenty-four-year-old Huang was an officer in the academy in training, after he graduated, he'd not passed the exams, and worked odds and ends in the pizza shops, as a delivery person, etc., etc., etc., at the end of 2021, he was hunting for a job, and connected with the members of the scam ring, nicknamed "director" and "Yueh-Feng Lee", and let up his bank account, his virtual currency account for them to use, and received five-percent of the money from the scams.
At about a little over a months ago, the ring used the multiple scamming means, conned a total of nine victims, and wired close to $900,000N.T. into Huang's account, Huang received over $190,000N.T.s, and there were the unknown sources of money from his account.
After the police and investigators was called, they'd caught Huang, Huang denied his involvements, stressed that he'd not known that he had, provided his bank information to a scam ring, thought that he was talking to a currency trading company employee that he too, was a victim.
The Miaoli District Court tried the case, believed that Huang graduated out of the police academy and had the previous work experiences, that he should have a better sense of allowing other people to use his account, that if the other party is a virtual currency trading company, why would they need to rent an account from him; and records showed that Huang called up customer services of his bank, and the representative told him that it was a scam, and he'd still, insisted on letting up his account, there was the unconfirmed intention of fraud, of money laundering, he was sentenced to two years four months for fraud and illegally scamming the money.
Huang appealed, claimed that he was suffering from depression at the time, that he'd had a lowered sense of judgment, asked the courts to reduce his sentence. The Taichung High Subsidiary Court reviewed the records of communication Huang had with the individual, after Huang's accounts were frozen, he'd reminded the other party "There's the anti-money laundering laws in Taiwan", "if you do this too often, you will get zoomed in on", suggested that the amounts be placed in lower chunks, to not deposit the total sums in one day, believed that Huang acted lucidly, that he'd not experienced a lack of judgement at all, tossed back the appeal, maintained the ruling, this can still be appealed.
So, this LOSER who got caught, offering up his accounts for the scam rings to use, still tried to evade his responsibilities in this case of fraud, and he'd attempted to WEASEL by using his mental incapacitation from his own depressive disorder as a sorry excuse, and the courts didn't believe him, and what's worse is that this can still be appealed, by this LOSER, if he wanted to try to receive a tiny slap on his, wrist!
