This morning I made my baking mixes for my pantry shelf. I use these when in a hurry or if the children want to bake something quickly. They know how to measure and cook so these are simply easy. Since I reuse containers, I am reducing the trash I generate.
I made:
All-purpose baking mix
cornbread mix
brownie mix
Rice a roni mix
Bean and cheese burritos(I stored those in the freezer)
We ripped out the romaine lettuce garden and replanted the garden bed. I give the old stalks to the goats and pigs. Our little neighbor came over to bring me flowers when she learned our dogs died. She carried a tiny golden retriever toy over to our house to put on Stella's grave. Many of our neighbors expressed how much they miss her. A golden has her people.
We set up a table with baked goods, and produce. I always sell everything I bring. Every summer, I have been selling my handmade bread bags, bee wax covers, aprons, and oven mitts. I have sold out of these items every week. The farmer's market table brings an additional 3, 000 to 5, 000 of income every year. I spend 2 hours at the farmer's market every Sunday. We have stocked the children's college funds with this method. We are currently using the tiny house rental funds for the next 2 years and their education will be paid for. This is where frugality and good stewardship of resources come into funding education and retirement.
Goals are critical to a frugal lifestyle. Frugality should have a purpose. For example, we planned to have retirement and education paid for. Maybe you want to get o of debt, pay off your house, or buy a starter home. Find a niche that allows you to create additional income. Many times, people do not want to hear it, sometimes, you need to bring more income into the home. There are many ways to generate income with very little start up capital.
