The mother didn't believe that her son could, make it to the top-hundred list, and as he had, she'd, mocked him, and that totally, DESTROYED his sense of the self, a VERY AWFUL example of how a parent should, behave here! Translated…
The long hall of the middle school campus, there's that bulletin, that posted all the straight-A students, so long as you're the top hundred highest grades, you get to, put your own, headshots on there. Underneath that crystal clear glass pane, the orderly posted photos, radiated of the smiles of the, individuals', confidence, and every time I'd passed the hallways, I couldn't help but stay awhile, and gotten closer to the glass, to take a look to see if there's a familiar face. And, as I'd glanced over and saw the photos that didn't get posted int the bulletins, I'd wondered, would they feel, that they didn't, measure, up?
At the time, my mother promised me, if I got into the top hundred highest grade, she would buy me a pair of new sneakers, and this had, motivated me, during that period of time, I'd, studied very hard, hoped that I can, be among one of those students with the academic excellence, looking down onto the hallway.
what the set-up looked like...image from online
And finally, I'd, gotten a spot in the hundred's, although, I was, on the edges, but I was still, very excited over it, told my mother about getting in.
"You did so very poorly, you still got into the top hundred.
Her response shoved all the way from my ears to my, throat, and I couldn't tell her, that I'd needed a headshot of me, and that photo became, absent suddenly.
I walked into the school, with my feet, trekking over that unfamiliar reward, stepped into, the familiar hallway, walked closer to the reflection on the glass panes. Saw that slot that's solely, mine, I'd, taken a step backward. And, retracted my gaze back to the reflected face on the glass panes, turned and, run off, and I'd, never gotten, my photo, posted on that bulletin board, ever, again.
This is how, the CARELESS words of this mother, DAMAGED her own child, and she may not have stated those words to her son, with ill-intentions, or maybe, she was only, mocking him (here goes that SARCASM & MOCKERY you used to teach your offspring with!!!), and that damaged the writer emotionally, and he, out of spite, NEVER got onto the bulletin again, because his mother's words weren't encourage, but SHAMING him.
