A program that helps the family members reestablish that needed connection with their teenage children, to help them stay on the right paths of life…off of the Front Page Sections, translated…
After the new counseling means of the juvenile criminals got amended, the new standards of "counseling at risk teens" started getting implemented, but there's a shortage of personnel of the youth counseling systems, which cause there to be not as fruitful an efficacy of the programs. The city government of Taoyuan stated that the number of cases increased, but there's the problems of low wages of the social workers, lacking in personnel, called out to the Central government to offer the support needed. The Youth Counsel program of Taichung started up the "pickup truck living the dreams program", through the pull of the care and love of the families, getting the adolescents back on the right tracks of their lives, to date, there are now, five successful cases of counsel.
The Taoyuan city government stated, that after the juvenile laws were amended, the responsibilities of counseling the adolescents increased locally, but the payrate is not proportional, plus a lacking in personnel, the government asked the Central Government to offer the reinforcements of funding, of staff members of the program, so the city can catch the teens before they fall through the cracks.
In Taichung, the social worker, Chiu pushed forth the "Dreams Pickup Project", the youth counsel oversaw the counseling of about a hundred at-risk youths per year; the adolescent, "Dong-Dong" grew up in a single-parent home, his mother worked to support the family, they'd never traveled, to seek out the approvals of his peers, Dong-Dong has the run-ins with the law, the social workers set him and his mother up for a daytrip at Lugang Tourist attraction, to help the mother and son reconnect, to pull him back onto the right tracks of life.
Chiu stated, that every teen has a different experience, that there is a need to design many plans, for instance, the mother-son in their "hands-on tofu" experience, using the do-it-yourself seminars, to help the parent see the good qualities in the child and vice versa; and the program also took the cross-generation upbringing families to the amusement parks, there are currently a total of five families in the program, and the program is currently expanding, aiming to strengthen the adolescents' ties with the families, through love, guiding these teens back onto the right paths of their lives.
So, this is a good program, that's working, to help get the at-risk teens back on the right tracks of life. As these troubled teens are usually from the families without the right functions, that's why they had, strayed off of the right path (i.e. joined the gangs, the scam artist rings…), and through this outreach program, the teens got to experience the love and care from their families, and it's enough to get them back on the right tracks of life.
