This week has been an absolute frenzy of "harvest before everything freezes". I've brought in bin after bin of assorted peppers, tomatoes, herbs, onions, beans and grapes, and we've been staying up late washing, chopping, freezing, canning and dehydrating everything.

I looked at the counter this evening and realized that these jars of "How can these plants possibly produce anything else" tomatoes are probably the last produce that I'll can this year. The only things left in the garden are kale, cabbage and broccoli.

Final tomato roundup: 9 quarts diced, 5 quarts sauce.

My erstwhile garden assistant, the Liquid Kitty, whose form changes to fit whatever container he's in.
