Tis the season for soft and warm crafts. I do love the feeling of starting that first yarncrafting project of the season when I'm full of possibilities and not yet overwhelmed by a gifting deadline. I get ideas for projects online but then pretty much make my own patterns as I go along. I love the feeling of being totally absorbed in a craft--my hands busy and my mind imagining and adapting as I go.

The cat clearly approves of a shift to a slower, sleepier, warmer pace of life. I'd barely gotten my tea on the side table and my crochet hook in hand before he jumped up and stretched out on my lap. He's getting older--10 this year. He can be my lap warmer for as long as he wants. So long as he doesn't get tangled in the yarn.
