Hi read, I hope you enjoyed Valentine's Day. My husband cooked for me AND did all the kitchen clean-up. Woohoo! I'm a sucker for fun or helpful Post-it pads and he got me 2 new ones that I LOVE! I felt special and loved. I hope you are feeling loved and special this week. Chances are, you're probably loving on others this week – your significant other, kids, siblings, friends, neighbors, kids' teachers, etc. What about taking a moment for self-love, though? What does self-love for working moms look like? *Define and maintain boundaries. Think about boundaries as a way to clearly indicate how you want to spend your time. You get intentional with your energy and that is absolutely a form of self-love. Set boundaries for what you want to do and want to avoid. At work and at home. *Step away from perfectionism. You do enough. You are enough. Don't feel like everything has to be perfect. Embrace the mantra of good is good enough this week. (And then keep using it!) *Think positive thoughts. Say these aloud: I am enough. I do enough. I deserve to have a joyful life. I can create the balance I crave. I believe in myself. I am setting an excellent example for my children. I can succeed as a working mother. *Let go of mom guilt. This goes hand-in-hand with perfectionism. Mom guilt isn't serving you now or ever. Remember, you're doing enough. Embrace the awesome-sauce are. Don't measure yourself against impossible online examples, even if it's a share from a friend. Keep your eyes on your own lane. You do you! *Practice self-care. Take a moment (or lots of moments) for some self-care this week. Whatever self-care means to you, schedule the time on your calendar, and actually do it! Fill your cup now and schedule it regularly. You'll be better in all your roles if you do. What does self-love look like for you today or right now? If you're struggling, let me know how I can help. Be well, Suzanne PS I'd I'm considering setting up two Zoom calls for those who subscribe to the Mompowerment newsletter, one for employees and one for entrepreneurs. Reply back with I'm in and whichever one you are so I can get a general idea of interest. |
