04.04.2017
Lucas and Hannah pack up their things, split the bill and walk out into the night. The sun has long traded places with the moon. Streetlights, illuminated stores and a caravan on headlights break through the darkness.
As Lucas promised, the bar isn't far away. After a short five-minutes-walk, they turn into the third side street before Lucas comes to a halt in front of a building which darkened and rather small windows reveal nothing about what's within.
Lucas:
"It might look inconspicuous, but I love this bar."
Hannah:
"Not everything needs to be Instagram-worthy.
In my opinion, personality and authenticity are a little lacking in this social media obsessed world anyway."
Lucas nods and opens the door. When Hannah enters, her eyes need a few seconds to adjust to the dim light. A middle-aged gentleman behind the broad mahogany-coloured counter facing the door greets them cheerfully.
The man and Lucas share a heartily embrace before picking up a conversation. Meanwhile, an older lady with white chin-length hair - probably the bearded gentleman's partner - places a tray with empty glasses on a free spot on the counter and shouts animatedly across the room. A group of younger guests - probably around Hannah's age - respond with more words she doesn't understand.
Hannah looks around and spots an empty table in the corner to her left. Since she has no idea what's going on, she would rather check her train connection to Hamburg and find out how to get to the station from this place.
>> Seriously…
It's so easy for Lucas to start a conversation with random people.
He either knows the whole crowd already or is just getting to know everybody.<<
As Hannah is about to settle down on the uncomfortably high chair when Lucas appears from behind her, armed with the menu. Sitting down across from her, he places it in Hannah's hands.
Lucas:
"Sorry but I haven't seen Dominik and Kristyna in a while because I've been way too busy with work.
Unfortunately, their English is rather poor."
Hannah:
"Or maybe I just need to learn Czech."
Lucas:
"Good luck with that, I would say.
Do you speak any Eastern European language?"
Hannah:
"Nope, but I'm sure it's not that difficult."
Lucas laughs out loud and points at a line on the menu.
Lucas:
"In June, we'll mainly talk in Czech, deal?
By the way, I highly recommend this cocktail.
It's a mix of cherry, black tea and Japanese Sake.
It reminds me a lot of Japan."
Hannah:
"Sounds good!
Could you order one for me?"
Lucas:
"I thought you wanted to learn Czech."
In response, Hannah rolls her eyes. Lucas winks before returning to the counter to place their order. After what feels like an eternity, he returns with Hannah's cocktail and a whiskey.
Hannah:
"After the drink, I really have to leave."
Lucas:
"Time is running way too fast when you're having fun.
Here's to all those perfect days."
Hannah:
"Cheers!"
Their glasses clink and Hannah curiously takes a sip of the recommended cocktail. Even though the bartender appeared clumsy at first, he proved to know exactly how to fine-tune a drink. Hannah tastes a slight note of sake and a hint of cherry which blend in well with the rather bitter taste of the black tea.
>> For sure, I won't say a word until he talks… <<
Hannah puts down her glass and stares at Lucas who moves his head slightly with eyes closed.
Lucas:
"If only everything could be as perfect as this whiskey."
When Hannah doesn't reply, he opens his eyes and picks up his phone, sighing.
Lucas:
"Tereza and I have been together for… about two years.
We met at work…
Where was…
Ah! There it is!"
He shows his phone which displays a happily smiling Lucas in a one-sided embrace with a petite girl whose long blonde hair cascades over his arm. Her head is slightly tilted toward Lucas, her mouth twisted into a hearty laugh and her grey eyes focused on her friend. Tereza's gaze revealed everything Hannah needed to know.
>> Like one of these dream couples that found each other at the end of an exciting journey in a Disney movie. <<
Hannah:
"You both look over the moon in the photo.
Why haven't you told me about her yet?"
Lucas:
"That photo is a little dated…"
Lucas puts his phone away and focuses on the whiskey in front of him.
Lucas:
"No idea for how much longer we'll be together.
So it's not worth introducing her to anybody new…."
Hannah frowns.
Hannah:
"Just because you don't feel like maintaining that relationship?"
Lucas:
"When Tereza started working for us, she immediately caught my eye.
Always a cheeky reply on her lips, captivatingly passionate for the things she loves, but yet kind and supportive.
Our personalities and the things we like differ like day and night…
In the beginning, I found it exciting."
Hannah:
"Often, opposites attract.
That way, you can pursue your own hobbies while not merging into that merged person so many couples end up."
Lucas:
"We hardly talk anymore….
About what's going on deep inside.
I had planned on asking her about moving in together, but….
Would that even work?"
Hannah:
"Have you ever lived together for a while?"
Lucas:
"When we started dating, we were inseparable and I spent more time in her than my own apartment."
Hannah:
"Maybe you guys are drifting apart because you're too busy and don't live together?
In the evening you could talk about your respective days."
Lucas:
"For weeks now, it seems like she has lost interest in what I'm doing.
Her mind is drifting off most of the time when I talk about my forthcoming trip to Japan or mention that I might consider changing my job…"
Hannah:
"And what excites her?"
Lucas:
"Paris.
There is no better place for her.
Their fashion, the cafés, restaurants and the French lifestyle.
Tereza is certain about moving to Paris one day and I'll join her.
A month ago, she quit working for us to start a new job at a French company."
Hannah:
"She's working toward her big dream.
That's amazing!
Wouldn't you want to support your partner in realising her dream?"
Lucas:
"Probably…
Maybe I should."
Hannah:
"So… Do you still love her?"
Lucas takes his time to answer and drains his whiskey.
Lucas:
"I think I do… kinda."
Hannah:
"Lucas…
Half-hearted matters don't suit you at all.
You guys should sit down and try to resurrect your relationship.
Listen carefully to what she has to say and support her to make things less stressful for her.
If Tereza cares about you, she'll be more attentive again."
Lucas:
"I've been trying so hard for weeks….
Putting Tereza first every single day.
But I don't get anything in return.
Like earlier…
She called because she wanted to remind me of an appointment on Friday.
Which is extremely important to her, but…
Because I was so busy, I honestly forgot about it.
She got all mad and told me how disappointed she was.
I never listen."
Hannah:
"Well, men have the habit of selective listening.
What if you add all appointments to your calendar?
That way you won't forget anything and surprise her."
Lucas sighs and nods.
Hannah:
"Being in a relationship with someone requires constant work.
But if all you ever do is give and nothing comes back…
It would make sense to end the relationship."
Lucas:
"Break up…"
Hannah:
"Nowadays, people give up on relationships so easily and don't even try.
When the tiniest obstacle gets in their way, they rather call it quits than try and solve the issue.
You don't just throw away a two-year-long relationship.
But who am I to give any advice?
I neither know her nor you guys as a couple.
You have to be introspective and make a decision.
Fight or give up."
Lucas:
"Even if I don't want to admit it, you're right…"
Hannah:
"Sometimes."
Hannah finishes her cocktail and glances at Lucas who looks like he's trying to shake off all negative thoughts, then he smiles at her.
Lucas:
"Enough of my relationship!
Why don't you tell me how to have a working love relationship?"
If Hannah hadn't finished her drink yet, she probably would have choked on it. A self deprecating laughter ripples through the air.
Hannah:
"With whom?
Honestly, I never met anyone who is at peace with themselves."
Lucas:
"Are you telling me you're single?!"
Hannah:
"Correct.
At the moment, I'm too busy at work, which is also more important to me.
My last relationship didn't end well, and I'm rather alone than in a relationship just for the sake of it."
Lucas:
"Oh wow…
I've never seen it that way."
Hannah:
"I see it all the time.
People would rather stay in a toxic and doomed relationship than being left to their own devices."
Lucas takes a big gulp of water.
>> Looks like he needs to digest my words. <<
Hannah:
"I like my life - the way it is right now
I got the most perfect job…
Every day, I'm able to do what I love and try out new things from time to time.
Combined with the bestest colleagues on this planet and the most chaotic flatmates who feel like a family."
Lucas:
"You share a flat?"
Hannah:
"Yes, I share a large and beautiful apartment with seven roomies."
Lucas:
"Eight people… in one place?!"
Hannah rolls her eyes.
Hannah:
"No way!
Some share rooms, but I've got my own four walls.
We're like a big, crazy family and I don't want to miss anyone.
You never feel lonely."
Lucas smiles sadly.
Lucas:
"Sounds lovely."
"In wenigen Minuten erreichen wir unser nächstes Ziel: Berlin Hauptbahnhof."
Hannah looks at the time display on the top right of her MacBook.
>> How is it 7.25am already?
It feels like I just left Prague five minutes ago. <<
Lukas and Hannah had made it to the Prague train station on time and she got the night train to Hamburg. Of course, the journey took longer than it would have during the day, but Hannah had been able to spend more time with Lucas and still surprise Stefanie today. Her friend's birthday was only tomorrow, but she had mentioned a few off days around the big day.
>> But what about today?
Will she be at work? <<
Hannah opens WhatsApp Web on her laptop and writes a message. Of course, she tries to remain as inconspicuous as possible to not arouse suspicion.
Hannah Winter: Good morning Stef! Hannah Winter: Tomorrow is your big day. Hannah Winter: I would love to beam myself over so we can celebrate your birthday together. Hannah Winter: :((((( Hannah Winter: Do you have to work today, or can I already assemble a party playlist?
Stefanie doesn't answer immediately and Hannah continues to devote herself to her current project. She had decided to stay awake during the train ride to finally master that cursed audio program. Since she travels alone, Hannah worries too much about her belongings anyway - especially her laptop.
>> In Korea, I would have simply closed my eyes, but haven't forgotten about the pickpockets here who will snatch everything you took on the train.
Especially since the carriage was rather empty. <<
As if called, the lady pushing the coffee trolley checks Hannah's compartment. She had passed by several times during the night and ended up selling Hannah a coffee each time.
Staff:
"Another coffee, my dear?"
Hannah giggles.
Hannah:
"You already know me too well.
I'd like one last extra large coffee with milk, please."
This time, Hannah leaves the coffee lady a tip and takes a warming sip. She puckers her lips slightly. In her lifetime, Hannah has drunk better coffees than this one, but the weakish brown brew did its job. Not once had Hannah dozed off but instead improved in using the software she hated so much.
>> I can locate the right functions much quicker now and understand what most filters do.
Yoongi and Namjoon will be proud of my progress.
I'd rather be productive than a burden to them. <<
Stefanie Giesinger: I was just about to ask why you are up so early on your day off.... Stefanie Giesinger: But then I remembered about the time difference. Stefanie Giesinger: I'm on my way to the office. Stefanie Giesinger: But I have decided to wrap up around 1pm. Hannah Winter: That early? Hannah Winter: Don't feel like working? Stefanie Giesinger: I rather use up some overtime and spend my afternoon at Väinö's place.
>> Oh shit!
Of course, Stefanie wants to spend time with her boyfriend.
I should have thought about that. <<
Hannah Winter: Nice! Hannah Winter: Do you plan to stay the night and celebrate your birthday there? Stefanie Giesinger: Exactly. Stefanie Giesinger: We don't have any plans for tomorrow yet, but we'll figure something out. Stefanie Giesinger: Tonight we will grab some Tibetan food.
Stefanie knows Väinö from her part-time job at a museum, and late last year they decided to make things official. Hannah heard many things about the man but had yet to meet him. But now she needs a new plan to surprise her best friend.
>> If I had only brought the flowers Lucas gave me.
But I ended up suggesting he rather use the bouquet to make up with his girlfriend.
Besides, they probably would not have survived the train ride with Deutsche Bahn…
Flowers!
Of course! <<
Hannah Winter: Sounds amazing. Hannah Winter: Have fun! Hannah Winter: By the way… Hannah Winter: I planned to send you something for your birthday. Hannah Winter: So now I need to change the address… Stefanie Giesinger: You don't have to send me anything. Stefanie Giesinger: We'll just do something fun the next time we meet in person. Stefanie Giesinger: But we could do a video call tomorrow. Stefanie Giesinger: What do you think? Stefanie Giesinger: Feels like we haven't seen each other in forever. Hannah Winter: Definitely! Hannah Winter: Tomorrow afternoon? Hannah Winter: My meeting should be over by then and we have time to catch up. Hannah Winter: Can I still get his address? Hannah Winter: It's only a little something.
Stefanie sends the rolling eyes emoji as a response.
Hannah Winter: Pleaseeeee?
Next, the cat from the movie Shrek with huge eyes appears.
Stefanie Giesinger: Ok, you win!
A second later, Hannah finally receives Väinö's address and copies it into Google Maps.
>> It's not quite near the city centre but… <<
Hannah switches to satellite view and explores the surroundings. By Hamburg standards, she spots many green spots in the area. She would have to walk from the next subway stop, but couldn't find any hotels nearby.
>> I definitely have to find a hotel…
And plan something for today.
Would be a pity if I do not pamper myself now that I have some free time in Hamburg. <<
And she knows exactly what to do first.
05.04.2017
Just as Hannah is about to check the doorbell signs for one particular name, the red door moves inward and an older lady in a colourful blazer and white clam diggers with a sassy short haircut comes out.
Old Lady:
"Do you want to go in?"
Hannah:
"Yes, thank you very much!
I'm going to surprise my best friend.
Today is her birthday."
The lady smiles at the bouquet of pink and purple carnations, pink tulips, eucalyptus and yellow craspedia Hannah is holding.
Old Lady:
"Stefanie?
She will be happy about your visit!"
Hannah:
"Oh!
Do you know Stefanie?"
The old lady nods eagerly and smiles at Hannah broadly.
Old Lady:
"I meet Stefanie more often than my own children.
We just finished having a cup of coffee, because Väinö had to work early today.
But I'm glad someone will fill the slot in time.
I have an appointment at my neurologist in an hour."
Hannah:
"It's amazing that Stefanie made some friends in her boyfriend's home already.
Have a lovely day."
As quietly as possible, Hannah closes the door and checks the name on every doorbell on the ground floor, but cannot find Väinö's. Hannah has better luck on the second floor and knocks on the door. A few muffled footsteps approached before the front door was flung open. Hannah quickly covers her face with the bouquet and begins to sing.
Hannah:
"Heute kann es regnen, stürmen oder schnei'n, denn du strahlst ja selber wie der Sonnenschein. Heut' ist dein Geburtstag, darum feiern-"
Stefanie:
"…Hannah?"
Hannah grins from ear to ear and holds out the bouquet to her overwhelmed best friend. Stefanie's mouth hung wide open and her eyes had doubled in size. She shakes her head almost in slow motion.
Stefanie:
"I can't believe it!"
Hannah:
"Surprise!"
Stefanie:
"Du blöde Kuh!!!
You could have warned me!"
In response, Hannah laughs out loud and Stefanie embraces her tightly.
Hannah:
"Booooring."
Stefanie:
"That's why…
You were already in Hamburg yesterday!"
Hannah:
"Correct, but I thought it's more appropriate to save the big surprise for your birthday."
Stefanie lets go of her and Hannah hands over the flowers.
Stefanie:
"Thanks!
They are so pretty.
But come in!"
Hannah takes off her shoes and enters the unknown apartment.
Hannah:
"Is it okay with Väinö that I am here without him knowing?
I mean… we've never met and here I am, standing in the middle of his apartment."
Stefanie:
"Don't worry.
He's super relaxed.
I'll send him a quick message.
Oh, I'm so happy!
So you guys will finally meet each other.
This is the best surprise ever!"
Stefanie walks through the narrow hallway, then turns left. Hannah closes the door and pauses in the entrance area for a moment. She spots several framed photographs of different landscapes decorating the walls.
Hannah:
"It's been too long!"
Stefanie:
"Make yourself at home in the living room.
I'll be there in a second."
Hannah heads straight to the comfy-looking leather sofa and sits down. There isn't much furniture inside the large room, but Hannah notices some souvenirs from different countries. Stefanie had told her before that Väinö likes travelling as much as her best friend does. Hannah recognises Mt Everest on a huge picture across from her but searches in vain for a television.
Hannah:
"Interesting… interior design."
Almost opposite of your own."
Stefanie throws her head back laughing.
Stefanie:
"You could say that.
But it's his apartment."
Hannah:
"I prefer yours."
Armed with two coffee cups, Stefanie enters the living room and sits down next to Hannah.
Stefanie:
"Gosh, the flowers are beautiful.
Oh!
The flowers!"
She jumps up, sprints back to the kitchen and returns with the flowers in a green vase.
Stefanie:
"I almost forgot about them.
Let's upgrade this place a bit."
Hannah:
"A few plants wouldn't hurt."
Stefanie:
"I'm working on it."
She winks and takes a big sip of her coffee.
Stefanie:
"But tell me…
How the hell did you get the days off?
Weren't you guys like… in America yesterday?"
Hannah grins.
Hannah:
"You can thank Mr Worldwide Handsome.
It was his idea."
Stefanie:
"I'll do that very soon!
Cannot wait to meet all of them.
But the two of us meet way too less."
Hannah:
"True and I haven't been to Hamburg in like forever.
I had already arrived in Prague on the 3rd."
Stefanie's eyebrows shoot up and she tilts her head with a mischievous grin.
Stefanie:
"I get it now.
You only needed an excuse to meet Lucas again!"
Hannah:
"That's not true!
He just happened to have time.
This year, I wanted to hand over your gifts in person."
Stefanie:
"You mean yourself?"
Hannah:
"Nope."
Hannah takes out a small box and removes a dark grey envelope from her bag.
Hannah:
"That's my present.
Happy birthday!"
First, Stefanie opens the box to reveal a phone case in the shape of a penguin. Hannah thought it could be a clever idea to gift Stefanie with a proper one since her phone keeps on falling down and some cracks are already noticeable on the display.
Stefanie:
"Pingu!!
You are right.
My current phone case sucks."
Hannah:
"That's what you said."
Immediately, Stefanie exchanges the phone cases and shows Hannah her now well-protected phone smiling. Afterwards, she opens the envelope and two concert tickets fall out.
Stefanie:
"No fucking way!
Bury Tomorrow?
Like… tomorrow?
You have no idea how incredible their live performance is!"
Hannah:
"I am so excited already!
You told me so much about them."
Stefanie:
"I had checked last minute, but it was sold out.
Thank you so much!"
They hug and Stefanie jumps up and down on the couch.
Stefanie:
"Do we feel ready for that crowd?
I'd like to get to front row."
Hannah:
"Somewhere on the side would probably be best… according to what I have researched online.
We want to survive that show in one piece, right?"
Stefanie:
"Did you check out any music videos on YouTube?
Or band pictures on Google?"
Hannah:
"No.
I wanted to surprise myself."
Stefanie:
"Let me tell you… their singer.
Damn!"
She gives a thumbs up.
Hannah:
"He rather sounds like a Viking."
Stefanie:
"Wait for it.
But… how about brunch?"
Hannah:
"Sure!
But first, you need to open your final present."
Hannah gets out the gift that Jungkook had wrapped.
Stefanie:
"Don't go overboard.
Weren't these enough?"
Hannah shakes her head, smiling.
Hannah:
"This gift is from the guys.
They also wanted to give you something, but no one told me what's inside.
Not even Jimin."
She pouts.
Stefanie:
"Wait!
BTS got me a birthday present?
Wow!
Almost too beautifully packaged to unwrap.
Also, the flower bouquet matches the gift wrapping perfectly."
Hannah:
"JK wrapped the present and I picked matching flowers."
Hannah eagerly watches Stefanie's every move.
>> I wonder what they got her….
BTS Merch?
Nah… a personal gift sounds more like them.
Did they handcraft something? <<
Before Hannah can remember any fitting RUN BTS episode, Stefanie pulls out a black mini bag. Stefanie would be able to carry it around in one hand or wear it as a crossbody. Just like the perfect partner for a concert or night out. The interior of the bag is filled to the brim with a matching mini coin purse, Korean snacks, various skincare products, and a small box with the BTS logo.
Hannah:
"That bag should be perfect for travelling!
And it looks like the guys added a small key chain version of their ARMY bombs."
Stefanie grins from one ear to the other.
Stefanie:
"I really didn't expect this.
I LOVE the bag!
And did you see the tiny logos on the front?
So minimalistic."
Hannah:
"That's YOUR bag."
Stefanie lays out every item on the coffee table in front of them and unboxes the key chain. Playfully, she presses the red button on top to turn on the light, but instead, they hear familiar voices.
"Happy Birthday, Stefanie!"
Stefanie's eyes widen.
Stefanie:
"It can talk!
Was that… BTS?"
Hannah nods.
Hannah:
"Press it again, maybe they added more."
Another voice talks to them next.
Jimin:
"We wish you the bestest birthday, Steff!"
Stefanie:
"Awwwww!
That's SO CUTE!
I think each member left a personal message."
Hannah holds her breath and covers her mouth with one hand. She isn't sure what she was expecting, but at times she clearly underestimates her flatmates.
Stefanie:
"That was Jimin!"
Hannah nods and Stefanie continues with the next message.
Yoongi:
"With lots of delicious food!"
Seokjin:
"And more presents than you can count."
Namjoon:
"We are looking forward to meeting you in person soon!"
Stefanie:
"Let's not talk about how excited I am to meet them!
That's so cool, yo!"
Jungkook:
"Welcome to the family!"
Taehyung:
"Hannah's friends are our friends, too."
Hoseok:
"See you very soon!"
Hannah:
"Everyone said something in English!
I'm so proud of their progress."
Stefanie:
"Let's send them a video message before heading out to eat!"
They record a raucous thank-you video, before taking the train downtown.
After eating way too much during brunch, Hannah and Stefanie decide to take a short walk along the Elbe River. Compared to Rostock, Hannah spots more pretty corners in Hamburg, but she couldn't ignore certain similarities which made her feel nostalgic. Hannah hadn't been back to her hometown for ages.
Stefanie:
"Did I tell you that we plan to travel to Mongolia for three weeks in autumn?"
Hannah:
"Not yet.
Why Mongolia?
There is not much to see, I thought."
Stefanie smiles dreamily.
Stefanie:
"That's exactly why.
It's Väinö's birthday present to me.
We'll mainly stay with a local nomadic family and simply unwind."
Hannah:
"Without your phone and laptop?
I can't imagine."
Stefanie:
"I work overtime and now realise how exhausting it is.
Meanwhile, I started to meditate alongside Väinö almost daily and enjoy it a lot.
Before, I never thought it was possible to calm one's mind."
Hannah:
"Sounds amazing!
I hope you will take some pictures at least.
Like a once in a lifetime experience."
Stefanie:
"I think so, too."
Hannah:
"Maybe I also should try out meditating."
Stefanie:
"I'd recommend it to such a workaholic like you."
Hannah:
"Hey!
I'm currently on holiday and stuff."
Stefanie:
"Oh, of course, I forgot."
She winks at Hannah, then points to her phone.
Stefanie:
"Show me the selfie of you and Lucas.
In the thumbnail, you guys look cute together."
Hannah hands over her phone and shakes her head.
Hannah:
"No chance.
As always, whenever I'm interested in someone."
Stefanie:
"Oh?
So are you admitting it?"
Hannah smiles sheepishly and describes her short trip to Prague - every detail of it. Stefanie listens silently, but her meanwhile expression darkens.
Hannah:
"What's wrong?"
Stefanie:
"Dunno…
But… I don't like him."
Hannah:
"Oh, ok…"
Stefanie:
"I mean…
How can that dude flirt with you when he actually has a girlfriend!?"
Hannah:
"That's just the way he is.
But you never met him in person…"
Stefanie:
"I am not sure whether he can change anything about my opinion in person.
Does he have any flaws?
He seems unappealingly perfect."
Hannah:
"Everyone makes mistakes and has some ugly sides, including Lucas."
Stefanie:
"He's being a total jerk about his relationship.
Hannah… You deserve better."
Hannah crosses her arms.
Hannah:
"Like I said…
You don't know him at all."
Stefanie:
"And that's a good thing!
I would rather vote for you and Jimin."
Hannah:
"Oh, stop it!"
Hannah laughs and pokes her best friend lovingly.
Stefanie:
"Even if Lucas breaks up with his girlfriend anytime soon, be careful.
He's too nice.
Guys like him usually have a catch."
Hannah:
"I appreciate your concern, but I share a flat with a bunch of dudes."
Stefanie:
"But these guys are chaotic treasures.
Are you sure about travelling around Japan with him?
Just the two of you?!"
Hannah:
"Why not?
Lucas has a girlfriend."
Stefanie rolls her eyes.
Stefanie:
"Well, he doesn't seem to care much about that Tereza chick.
And even in a relationship… some people prefer having some fun."
Hannah:
"As if.
Not Lucas."
Stefanie:
"Sometimes, the nicest guy is just a sly old dog."
Hannah:
"Okay, that's it.
I'm not talking about Lucas with you anymore."
Hannah pulls out her phone.
Hannah:
"I'd rather check out what that Viking looks like."
Stefanie:
"Nooooo!"
Laughing, she grabs Hannah's phone.
Stefanie:
"How dare you!
I want to see your first impression of him in person."
Hannah:
"But you'll leave Lucas alone in turn."
Stefanie:
"Ok, ok.
For today."
