Today I want to talk about late success. The problem with late success is that till the time you reach your destination you feel like a failure and the world around you adds to it. Everybody is having a different take on success but everybody is identical about when you should get successful: earliest.
We all have heard stories of people becoming millionaires or billionaires at the age of 20, 25,30 and Forbes magazine adds to it. 20 under 20, 30 under 30 and multiple examples are there.
I am not saying all these stories are a lie or they don't matter at all. No these stories matter and they do matter a lot. But the thing is instead of deriving learning and motivation and inspiration from them, what we derive from them is anxiety. What we derive is to become a millionaire within the next 1 year or 6 months or to start thinking about ideas that will make an overnight success.
But a lot of us will have late success. It is because, we are conditioned to aim small. We set really small stepping stones for ourselves and yet to achieve those stepping we wait for an entire year. A year will end my company will give me about 10% increment and then again I will work after 3 years I will switch the company and will get 30% increment and then somewhere in our 40s we get around a total which will be as good as financial freedom.
We have learnt this minimum failure plan and moving on that way only. This plan is not at all wrong but then why are we comparing ourselves with people who choose to look beyond minimum failure plan and making ourselves sad? If we want to be a millionaire or a billionaire early then we will have to run faster and we will have to take some risks or else stop comparing ourselves with people who showed courage to be faster and better.
So today's learning: "Learn to be courageous or stop comparing yourself with courageous."
Have a Great Day
