As each day passes, two of the biggest, most important contributing factors in life is faith and finances; no matter where we are, our faith speaks on our behalf in order to bring the finances we need to live well, give well and receive well. I remember a few years ago where talking about finances would be so uncomfortable, for fear of being judged and secretly wondering how other people 'made it' look so successful making a certain amount of money in a week, let alone a month!
Was it just their full-time job that kept them going, or was it a side-hustle they started at a young age the sprang up quickly? Could it be that they were wise at handling money and limited their spending and outgoings, embraced delayed gratification and refused to settle, rather than quickly indulging in what wouldn't have lasted to impress others who probably were more focused on what their lives has to offer them? Is it that our environments only teach us to receive and give less, hence the reason we struggle to invest in others i.e., charities, business opportunities/ventures, online courses, education, etc? Who knows…
It takes faith to believe in what you can't yet see; no matter how it looks like, you just got to keep moving forwards. As wisdom continues to follow you, it will teach you the importance of learning how to let go of the controlling attitudes, and focus more on what you currently have, making it work in your favour, rather than being pressed on how much you need to make; rather, you are confidently able to say: 'What can I do with what's already in my reach?' – for this reason, it is good to identify what you are good at in terms of your own unique gifts, skills and abilities, and work towards investing in those areas without fail.
Even if you love cooking, it doesn't have to necessarily be for your immediate family and close friends; you can start a pop-up shop selling snacks and food items over the weekends to raise further funds, increase your cooking skills, and more importantly, turn your cooking into a cookbook! Your ideas don't have to be focused on one niche; nonetheless, it is important to start with one area to gradually develop, build and expand your audience and creative flair.
As we are approaching the last few months of 2023, this is a reminder that believing in your gifts, skills and talents will enable you to not only get to the next level, but is the ignition to keep you going when you don't have all the resources at hand. A lot of us make finances the main reason why we can't start a project or task, but for all the times you've taken to 'wait' until the breakthrough happens, could have been used to invest, research, network with others in your field, create video content for your website or social media handles, or helping another business owner build their own projects.
Don't put your desires on hold because you don't feel ready; it's in those seasons where you don't have what you think, that keeps you fuelled up and ready to go! You can't be in control of every detail in your life, but you can choose to focus on one task at a time and build it up from there.
"Remember that gradual growth is better than stagnation."
Let faith and finances naturally work together on your behalf; take rest; release the funds when you need to, and expect it will come back when you least expect it; those are the best moments; indeed, they are.
