Love on the Right Course - Review
Whitney competes in the Red Pines golf tournament, but everyone can see she has lost a step since her mother, Coach Alice, died two years ago. Whitney's long-time caddy, Andrew, acts as her Interim Coach, but she hasn't officially hired him. Whitney loses the tournament but qualifies for the Eastern European Open next month. Andrew wants to return to Arizona immediately to practice, but Whitney says no. She must travel to Budapest to spend time with her father, Marton, on his birthday. Also, she wants to use this time to reconsider her future in golf. Whitney's lack of focus frustrates Andrew, and he quits.
In Budapest, Whitney plays at Marton's golf resort with noise-cancelling headphones. She doesn't hear Daniel drive by in his golf cart. Daniel has been the course pro for a year. He doesn't recognize Whitney and questions her presence on the course. Daniel abruptly apologizes after learning she is the boss's daughter. He gives Whitney a quick tip and drives away. Whitney meets with Marton and encourages him to get more involved with the golf course and his friends. However, it reminds him of Alice and drudges up painful memories. Now, he wants to sell it. Whitney respects Marton's decision but needs him to think it through. As she opens Marton's mind to healing, Whitney will learn new techniques with Daniel. But will it end when she discovers Daniel is working against her, too?
This movie is slow unless you like golf and the pivotal conflict spikes in the last 30 minutes of the film. The lead characters don't have a romantic spark until the end. In the meantime, they have a platonic friendship with helpful coaching. It's great to see Whitney come into her confidence, but viewers never worry about the golf course sale or Whitney's relationship with Andrew. This film is a Hallmark production, and everything will work at the conclusion. If you want something to watch without using your full attention, this is your film.

Dying for Fame - Review
Dying for Fame - LMN - 2 hours and 0 minutes
Juliet creates a workout story to inspire her followers and posts several pictures. Afterward, she walks to the bathroom for selfies and a shower. She hears someone at the door and alerts them she is inside the bathroom. Juliet walks out to candles and rose petals. Her Romeo stalker, Holden, left them to impress her. She begs him to leave, but Holden won't give up. She fights him off and escapes.
Anna watches a TV starlet, Tessa, drunkenly stumble to the bathroom. Anna follows Tessa under the guise of helping but snaps photos of Tessa regurgitating in the toilet. Anna works for Hot Goss, an internet tabloid, and doesn't care about her subjects. She doesn't believe actors, singers, and influencers deserve their fame because they won the genetic lottery. Anna's boss, Lex, puts Anna's post on the site's homepage. Then, Lex gives Anna an interview with Juliet. Anna looks at Juliet's content and rolls her eyes at the ultrapostive images. Then, Anna asks her co-worker and friend, Artie, to investigate Juliet's followers. He uncovered that her followers didn't engage and followed each other. Juliet's followers are bot accounts.
Anna enters Juliet's home, and Juliet's sister, Meg, welcomes Anna. Anna spies that Juliet has someone changing the locks and inquires why because the neighborhood is notoriously secure. Meg brushes off Anna's question. Then, Anna hears Juliet arguing with her boyfriend, Ryan, upstairs. He comes downstairs and looks at Anna suggestively before greeting Anna. After Ryan leaves, Anna interviews Juliet on Juliet's terrace. Anna questions Juliet about her followers. Juliet doesn't deny it but openly wonders why no one asks about her stalker. Her stalker is part of a group of men that latch on to an entertainer and tattoos a star on their wrist for their prey. Anna considers stalkers the price of fame and doesn't care about that story. She takes Juliet's dodge as an admission that she bought followers. Anna writes the story, and fans cancel Juliet.
Anna wakes up to angry messages and comments because Juliet ended her life by jumping off her terrace. Juliet's family and friends accost Anna, so Anna shuts off her phone. Anna second-guesses putting out the article, but Lex says it's the right move. They couldn't have known what would happen, and it's not their fault. Lex offers Anna a drink and lets Anna leave for the day. Artie points out a gift on Anna's desk before she leaves. Anna finds a card with a star and a dead mouse inside the box. Anna screams and runs home. Anna turns on her phone to find a message from Juliet moments before her death. Juliet forgave and thanked Anna for exposing her. She ended the message by offering to go out for drinks with Anna. Anna doesn't believe Juliet ended her life. She thinks Holden threw Juliet off the terrace. She decides to investigate for a new story. Can Anna handle her newfound fame and the public revenge?
Anna is a spider caught in a web she made. She doesn't care about people, only the story. She admits to creating stories in the past and will do anything to expose them. While Anna starts as the villain, her rant may ring familiar to viewers. She looks down on celebrities and hate-watches them. She doesn't understand why people admire them but profit from their downfall. Viewers will instantly dislike Anna but continue to watch her evolve. Surprisingly, the script allows the audience to sympathize with Juliet. She is a sad and lonely woman looking to escape a golden cage. She needed help but got followers and an entourage. While the mystery is easy to solve, the plot holds a glaring mirror to society, influencer culture, and instafame.
