As the digital era is now, here, the need to learn to operate these machines are, absolutely, NECESSARY, as soon, to save up on paying the workers the wages, the stores are going to start using these, self-checkouts, these, self-ordering stations…off of the Front Page Sections, translated…
This country is in DIRE need of age-friendly environment, but there are the undefeatable trends of the elderly population taking up learning the new technologies. The seventy-two-year-old elderly woman, Tsai, worked in McDonald's for twenty years, as the self-order kiosks were in their beginning stages of operations, she'd asked the company to allow her to be in charge, she'd gone through the training, passed the certifications, and now, she's helping the customers how to use the kiosks, and she'd often told her customers, "if an elderly woman like me in the seventies can use the kiosk, you can do it too!"

The Elderly Welfare Reinforcement League's secretary, Chang told, now the children are "natives to digital technology", using the internet, using the cell phones, seemed to have been inborn for them, but, for the elderly older than sixty-five, they'd become, "the newly immigrants of the digital era", if they weren't willing to learn, they may hit the walls, everywhere they go; the elderly population may only be in contact with the smart phones, but the digitalization of the society is happening right now, like the self-order kiosk by McDonald's, etc., etc., etc., widening the gap of elderly population's digital awareness.
"I'm afraid that I may fall behind in the digitalization of modern day world too.", Tsai, a senior employee of McDonald's told, the upgrades of the company's self-order kiosks keep occurring, there were the customers who didn't know how to operate the machines, and not been able to get to the next step to ordering, gotten anxious, nervous, or even, angry, after flying into that rage, the customer turned around and left; and now, there are more and more restaurants that are using the apps to order the menu items, hoping that the aging population can learn, so long as there's enough patience, more tries made, there would be no problem, "don't limit yourselves because of your growing older."
She said, to know the ways of the new technologies, she'd often taken the courses offered by the community colleges, involved herself in beach cleaning, her current goal of work is to assist those consumers who needed help, sharing how she was able to, overcome the digital differences of those her age and the younger generations with others.
McDonald's stated, that the kiosks are operational, but the cashier order is also available still too.
So, this is on the aging population's willingness to learn the newer technologies, and if you don't, because this IS the trends of how things are going, soon, there are going to be the stores, with no more human cashiers, and only, machines, to SAVE the wages paid to the employees, and, if you're still not on board the programs, then, you won't be able to get what you needed from the shops, so, it's important, to keep on, learning, because we are all, going to, live in this, digital era.
