One more step in the RIGHT direction in GENDER equality, giving the fathers a longer paternity leave, and besides, taking care of the newborn infants is NOT just OUR business, it's also, yours, men!!! From a man's personal experiences, off of the Front Page Sections, translated…
As a man who went on the unpaid paternity leave myself, thinking back, I'd still felt that it'd been, more than worth it that I'd done it, and so, I'd also, encouraged that the men in this society who are having children, if you can, DO file for your, paternity, leaves if you can, because you would gain the three following benefits:
First, this is a period of time that you get to know your children as they grow up, at this time, the infants rely solely on their caretaker for everything they need, and, with the males, doing all of these, detailed work, they can personally experience the hardships of raising up a child, and be there to witness the child as s/he grows up, and have a deeper sort of connection with their own, offspring.
Secondly, in the traditional Asian cultures, the children are always closer to the mother, and they always tell their mothers everything, because their mothers listen to them, comparing, they're all, a bit, distant from their fathers; but through taking the paternity leaves, in accompanying your children as they grow older, the men can learn how to interact with their own young better, and, to set up a long-term interaction style with ones' own, children.
Finally, the men are used to putting themselves out on the line in the workforce, but in the process of paternity leave, the mindset of work no longer, worked, and they'd had to, learn everything from ground zero, and using a gentler method to handle everything; and as the men returned back to the workforce, this brand new perspective of interacting gained during the paternity leaves can give you a bigger view of things.
I'd only made sixty-percent of my original wages back when I took my paternity leave way back when, and now, the government is trying to encourage the citizens to give birth, and increased the amount of wages to eighty-percent, and this is beneficial to the families with the considerations of money. There's only ONE childhood for every child, and once that's missed out, you will NEVER get another, do over again, men, do NOT, let this opportunity pass you, by!
So, this would be, the benefits of, the paternity leave, after all, childrearing is NO longer (like it ever was???) the work of us, women, and, giving men a longer paternity leave, is a step toward gender equality, because, it gives men an opportunity, to parent their own children, to be THERE for their young when they were, little, that way, the connection between the fathers and the children are set up, and, that can only, bring the men and their children closer as they all grow, older, until, the adolescence, then, they rebel, but, it is, important, to ESTABLISH that paternal connection with your children, M-E-N! Besides, with you on your paternity leaves, we get to, head back to the work we left, to have our babies, so it benefits both sexes!
