We are hitting the road again. This time we are going to Idaho. I have been making ice coffees, iced teas, lemonade, and flavored waters for the journey. This saves an easy 50 dollars over several days. I made 8 different glass bottles of each drink for each family member. This is in addition to iced water.
I made 4 days of meals and snacks. We will have 2 dinners out.
We found that our Walmart credit card was being canceled due to Capital One not having a relationship with Walmart anymore. I had enough points to pay off the entire card. I found that we were overcharged for the fridge we bought at Lowe's they overcharged us 600. Between these two cards, I recovered 2,100 dollars in income. The failed freezer netted me 500 dollars. In this economy, these are big wins.
Shopping the clearance is a great way to save on produce and meats you will use in the first day or two of shopping. or you can put it in the freezer.
In my area, milk gets reduced to 15-25 cents a gallon. I always use this for yogurt, corn chowder, pudding, icecream, and cheese making.
I went to CVS this week. I was able to get a year's worth of toothpaste for 1.25. We go through a lot of toothpaste.
Every August, I fill out all of my birthday cards, graduations, and Christmas newsletters using my Hallmark greeting card programs and Word. Everything is scheduled to go through email. I save a tremendous amount of paper, envelopes, stamps, and cards. 1000 people x .73 is 730 dollars. That is just postage for all of my husbands and my friends.
My friends and family know I refuse to send gifts through the post office. When we visit I bring a big box of things. We also pay for experiences.
School supplies are cheap right now, stock up for yourself as well.
