Overworked, and underpaid, and they're, getting S-U-E-D and ARRESTED, for NOT catching the families that fell through the, cracks, when the reality of things is that these hard working men and women already had too much on their plates, they're working all those overtimes, trying to save these, families, and the government doesn't do SHIT, for them, instead, allowed for this sort of ABUSE to happen, and imagine a world without these important persons as the first line of defense…off of the Front Page Sections, translated…
The United Daily News reported of the trends of social workers dropping out of social work, that it had an enormous effect on the passing of experiences, with the reduced number of social workers that are needed on staff in the cities and counties across the country. This has to do with the predicaments which the social workers are faced with also. Awhile ago, there was the child abused to death case, the social workers aren't the ones responsible, and yet, the law enforcement had cuffed the social worker, causing the angers to spread in the society, and many of the social workers were heartbroken too, "I'd protected the cases I'm working on, but who will, protect, me?"
these hard working men and women going on STRIKE, for what they deserve to earn and getm for working too hard! Photo from online
The hardships of social workers, I'd viewed from more than fifty years ago when I was in the social education majors. At the time, the census bureau had, sent out the social work major students in the major universities, to conduct the census, to all over the country to the poverty stricken regions, to confirm if those who'd applied for assistance from the government qualified to receive the assistance.
At the time, we got paid ten dollars per house, but, it doesn't matter where the location of the house are, in the cities, in the mountains, wilderness, by the seas. I'd hiked up the Taiping Mountain, sweated like crazy, but there were only, three families there, while my female classmates worked in the city to conduct the census, just circled around the Luodong District, and she could check thirty, to forty households. And thankful the professor leading us was fair, and the female student didn't object either, but this is from the simple mindedness of college students. In reality, the work of the social workers are differential by the cities and counties, there are many more cases in Taipei and Hsinbei, and the social workers assigned in these areas are having it harder…in the smaller townships, social workers may not have that many cases to oversee, but the payrate is exactly the same. The social worker who got cuffed by the D.A.'s office is really having it bad, she's probably, too, strained!
As I was checking the poverty stricken families from back when, I'd run into some troubles too, the local head of the borough or village labeled the families as "poverty stricken", but I saw that these families had the appliances such as refrigerators, and television sets, they should be labeled as less needed, or completely get taken off of the assistance list. But the individuals in charge of the boroughs kept using an assortment of reasons to have me NOT change the families' statuses, like how the social workers now, had to, deal with the pressures from higher up and the issues of, connection.
I'd found, that the government in the past fifty years, did NOT improve the pays and status quos of the social workers, the lacking of support, the hardships of the social workers, the government should really pay more attention to.
So, this is, a thankless job, when you caught these families before they fall through the cracks, the world thinks that you're, doing your jobs right, and when you don't, the world HOUNDS you down, for NOT protecting the children, for not catching these at-risk families in time, that the tragedies occur, and this IS too hard, it's a wonder there's this, EXODUS of social workers, and, it will take more than marching the streets to the Presidential office to get their voices heard, maybe, a complete STRIKE will finally, HELP this society see just how important these, social workers, are, because without them, these families in need will, fall through the, cracks for sure!
