When the president elect only looks out for number one (guess who that MIGHT be???), his own self, and his political party, how can this be a democracy? It isn't! As this, minority president came into, the office, off of the Front Page Sections, translated…
The Two Rounds of Majority Rule, So Long as the Chairperson, Lai Signs Off, the Amendment to the Constitution Can Pass Easily
Since Lai had been elected as president, his motto was "fighting for democracy", called himself the "defender of democracy". But his actual behaviors, derailed from what democracy, is, if we don't doubt his heart (that he is with the intentions of defending democracy), then we can only, question his, brain (his knowledge of democracy).
Three presidents after Lee, they all graduated out of N.T.U. Law, setting aside what became of the country under their rules, but their knowledge of democracy, way exceeded Lai's. Lai has a medical background, born into a democratic society, unlike the father of our country, Dr. Sun Yat-sen, who'd tried to find a way out for China under the rule of a monarchy, which led Dr. Sun to study the politics of democracy of western countries' therefore, both are trained medical professionals, but, the current president, Lai's awareness, knowledge of democracy, paled by comparison to Sun.
It would be shocking, to listen to Lai's words, then, observe his, behaviors, so, in the mind of the president elect, Lai, democracy meant: "I am democracy, those who have a different belief than I, are all, anti-democracy." So as he was the mayor of Tainan, he'd not set foot into the city council for 232 days, because Lee had yet to be, sentenced, or maybe, he'd become, the judge? And, the people's elected mayor, entering into the city council, that's answering to the wills of the people, other than Lee, there were, dozens of councilmembers who are, supervising the city government for the people's sake, his not heading into the city council is, evading people's supervision, this is an act of anti-democracy, yet, Lai is completely, unaware.
a minority president is what came of this past, election...collage from online
As a citizen, Lai naturally has the right to speak against the reforms of the legislature; but as a president, he should NOT gossip about the bills before the discussion forums were held, even threatening the parties out of power; because with the authority of the president, stating his own opinions for certain bills, clearly, this interferes with the independent operations of the justice, legislative departments. He seemed to be a vital indicator of the independently operating means of the justice department, but he had no knowledge of the laws, that's why, he couldn't, act according to what best fitted to the laws.
It seemed, a bit, demanding, to ask a person to understand the meaning of freedom in democracy, for a person who'd never even, flip through a page of philosophy of politics. But if the president, Lai really has the heart to defend democracy, point the simpler routes for him: he should ask the members of his own party in the legislature, to work with the parties out of power, to propose an amendment for the impeachment of president and vice president, to ensure, that the president elect is NOT the one with the most number of votes, but the absolute, majority.
Based off of the current impeachment laws of the president and of the vice president, the legality of Lai winning the presidency is sound, but because he'd only won about forty-percent of the votes, there's that lacking in the legitimacy of morale. Principally, democracy means the absolute majority, and if Lai's presidency is justifiable, then, he'd needed over fifty-percent of voters' support, that would then, fit to the spirit of democracy.
In actuality, the professor, Su, before the lection last year, called out, that the DDP that had the majority of seats in the legislature should amend the constitution proactively, to change the presidential voting into a two-round, if no candidate wins the majority during the first round, the top two contenders should go head to head in a second round of voting, that way, it can ensure, that the president who's elected has more than half of the popular votes, and there would be the justifiable means of the president, elect.
Based off of the political atmosphere, so long as the chair of the DDP, Lai had agreed to sign off on this, amending the two-round voting process is simple. We are still, waiting to see, if the president elect favors his own position of power more, or is he, a true guardian of, democracy!
Guess how this president who'd not won the majority of votes, but the most number of votes of all who'd voted will act? Like a popularly ELECTED, dictator, following his predecessor, Tsai's footsteps, because the DDP became way too power thirsty, in their controlling the executive branch and the judiciary branch of the government, and now, they can't, control the legislative, which is, a good thing, because if the DDP also controlled the legislative, then, the country will be ruled under complete DICTATORSHIP, so, there's that, one branch of government that the DDP still hadn't, "taken" yet!
