Pets are a dear, expensive part of the family. Common sense, supervision, and pet insurance can lighten the load. A good vet with a set of morals. Buying the best food and safe toys is a good start. I asked a trainer for the safest toys she could recommend.
Common dog behaviors: chewing, digging, and destructive behaviors result from not enough supervision, exercise, and stimulation. Many dogs are rehomed for these behaviors. This adds to shelter costs in our communities. I put my foot down with my husband with this puppy: he doesn't get to be the good-time daddy while I set the limits. You can save yourself a lot of heartache and expense by consistent training and knowing your breed. I put green apple training spray all over places I know puppies chew on day one. My neighbor was shocked how well Daisy walks. It took a few pieces of food today to get her to walk on a leash.
It is flu and COVID season. The government is sending out 4 tests to each address in late Sept. I have a bunch of tests. I always have masks. I always keep a kit that has flu meds. fluids, cough drops, an instant ice pack in covered 5 -gallon bucket. I have a packet of Emesis powder. You would think with all my years of mothering I could handle vomit, I can't. It saves money to be stocked up. I carry one of these when we travel. I also have a food bin just for illness with foods I know the kids will like.
If you can gauge your kids' clothing and shoes for next summer. Hit the clearance racks. I stocked up for the kids and grandkids the week before less for less than 50 dollars.
Waiting for new technology can be beneficial for prices to come down and for the " bugs" to be worked out. I purchased my first reader was 149. It was very basic compared to the Kindle. Today, the Kindle 11 does 3x as many things for 169.00.
I try to keep printers as long as possible. I have been refilling my black cartridges for almost a decade now. However, I save hundreds of dollars every year on cartridges. I do a lot of printing every month.
