Religion in most climes is just a way of life. Been a Christian , like been a Muslim and Buddhist refers to the way a person or group has chose to commune with God and man.
But where I come from in Africa, that would be too simple. Religion is further interpreted culturally, to what others interprete your chosen religion to be and you could easily be excommunicated or misunderstood for your chosen religion Been a single mum is one of the sore points of many religions. Nigeria is probably one of the top religious countries in the world, yet division along religious lines has been a tool and weapon for leaders over the years.
If you choose to get involved you would be popular as been argumentative, stubborn etc. But the alternative is to just make your choice and stick with regardless of who minds.
As a rule of thumb, I avoid religious disputes even when I am called into them, I feign stupidity. I don't believe anyone can define your relationship with God and Nature better than you. Attempting to meet other people's standard definition would most likely stretch you emotionally especially if you have erred in their definition Let's live, learn and love and choose our religious paths without attempting to model another.
You can only be the best you ever. Trying to be as pious as another would only make you self centered and discontented.
Spend sometime understand you relationship with God and Nature (yes, I think God is nature). You would.be surprised how much balance your life would have just by defining yourself and your supremo even if he happens to be a Cow.
Stop waiting your time and energy explaining it to anyone, as long as you understand it and remember, faith is all about you and your supremo not some other person's opinions
