I was harvesting beets today. I was pulling off the greens to pull the beet up. A piece of the beet flesh was driven to tne tip of the nail to bottom of my nail bed. I attempted to remove. The pain was horrible. I was treated for a nail avuslion. The worse part of the treatment was the two shots on both sides of my finger. My finger is still numb. I have to take 3 days of antibotics. I also needed a tetanus shot.

Lesson learned. Always wear gloves when gardening. For the love of god, dig up your beets. I will post the gross pictures tommorrow.
