The challenging and varied role of a Community Support worker is ideal for anyone hoping to make a positive impact on the lives of Individuals and families.

As a community support worker, you'll offer practical help and emotional support to Individuals experiencing short or long-term difficulties.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience of managing and resolving serious and complex issues.  The focus of your role is to provide support to individuals, empowering them to address various challenges, reducing problems and risks.

A positive and enthusiastic outlook is also essential as is the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people.

The challenges faced by individuals in our care could relate to:

  • anti-social behaviour and criminal activity,
  • behaviour and social interaction
  • bereavement and caring responsibilities
  • domestic violence and abuse
  • drug and alcohol addiction
  • education and learning
  • finance and debt
  • housing and homelessness
  • language barriers
  • physical and mental health issues, disabilities and learning difficulties.

The postholders will be responsible for investigating cases, supporting individuals, and working in partnership to find effective, long-term solutions to issues affecting individuals.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement.
