"Give me coffee to change the things I can, and the beach to accept the things I cannot change." ~ Unknown
It's okay to take care of me.
Between working as a unit manager, filling in as a supervisor, taking care of the dogs, the house, being on call to do rape kits, answering phone calls, covering call-ins, and going back to school -- there comes a time where I need a break. A need to get away from the stress of everyday life.
So I came to the beach.
Sand. Beautiful sunsets. The birds. The surf. The smell of salt in the air.
Nothing I have to do (once I got my assignments done). Just a chance to take a deep breath and relax a bit.
I was asked if I accomplished what I set out to do - well, yeah . . .
Amazing how testy some people get when you aren't focused on them and what they want. Huh . . . whodathunkit.
Tomorrow will be the day spent at the beach, just enjoying the peace and quiet. And then the quiet ride home.
Batteries recharged, ready to go again.
