It should be LIFE in prison, see how LENIENT this country is, toward the MURDERERS? No wonder every sort of criminal is landing here right now, because this IS the LAWLESS land of the DDP, without the SEVERITY of punishment to DETER the criminals…off of the Front Page Sections, translated…
Thought that Taiwan is Safer than All Other Southeastern Countries that was Why He'd Come as a Foreign Exchange Student, His Mother Flew Here to Visit Her Son, and It'd Become that She's Heading Back Home with His Ashes in an Urn
The National Taiwan Ocean University foreign exchange student from Malaysia, Chen went to the karaoke to have a farewell party for his coworker, got into an altercation for opening the door to the wrong room with another man, and had a run-in with the man on the way out, he was hacked to death by the man, Chen using a folding knife; Chen's mother originally bought the fare to Taiwan to visit her son to travel with him on the island, and now, she's, taking his ashes, home. During the trial in the Keelung District Court, the judge went down hard on the murderer, Chen for his use of force to murder the student, and sentenced him to eleven years for assault murder.
The verdict stated that on the evening of November 14th of last year, the student, Chen (age 23) arrived at the karaoke bar in Keelung to host a farewell party for his coworker, the murderer, Chen (age 26) was also there with a group of friends, later, Chen, the student and the man, Chen after horseplaying and rammed into the room where the twenty-six year old was drinking, although they'd apologized profusely, the seeds of upset was already sown.
The following morn at around four, as both parties paid and left, they'd engaged again, Chen pulled out a folding knife, and stabbed the student, Chen twice on his thighs, then, severed off Chen's arteries, and Chen was dead before arriving in the hospital.
The representative attorney for the family of Chen told, that Chen's mother raised him up, and offered him the money to come to Taiwan to study, but he was stabbed to death because of a farewell party for his coworker, Chen's mother originally purchased the fares on November 24th last year to come to Taiwan to have a trip with her son, and now, she's "taking her son's ashes home to bury".
The attorney stated, that Chen's families thought that Taiwan is a safe place, that was why they'd sent him here to study, but he'd died here, causing the Malaysian community question the safety of traveling to Taiwan, asked the courts to sentence the murderer severely.
The older sister of the victim was on webcam and cried, and told that their father died from CoVid many years ago, originally her mother was happy that her younger brother had graduated, and a bright future ahead, but now, she'd lost her husband and her son, and her life will never be, the same again.
The district attorney of the trial pointed out, that Chen, for something miniscule, got into a physical confrontation with someone, carried a knife on him, showed a higher risk of attacking someone, that he had many priors on him, but never received punishments beyond incarceration or that he was able to skip from serving time by reaching settlement agreements with the families of the victims.
And, this is what's led to the murder of this young man with his bright futures ahead, the student got into an altercation over something so miniscule, that's caused him to get murdered to death, and the murderer had priors in attempted murder and assault, but he didn't get severe enough punishments, and never learned his lessons, that's why this tragedy happened, because there's NOT severe enough punishment, and the DDP is still looking at eliminating the DEATH penalty?
