The Julia challenge is going well in my household! We're choosing a meal from Mastering the Art of French Cooking once a week or so, and making the best of the time we have to dine well! It's exciting for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is that my normal cooking is taking on a definite flair!
This meal is called Sautéed Beef, and I wasn't sure what the end result would look like. Would it be a stew? It winds up looking more like beef with a lovely sauce. We served it over mashed potatoes with a southern sweet tea and scrumptious French bread and butter! I'm not sure I can begin to describe how lovely the sauce is for this dish, smooth and full bodied and beefy! So yummy!
