After first unveiling the details for the upcoming Black Adam film starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson at last year's inaugural DC FanDome, this year's virtual event kicked things off strong giving fans a world exclusive first look.

The sneak peek began with an introduction of the actors portraying the the Justice Society of America (JSA) including Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate. Though we didn't get to see the actors in full costumes, we did get close-ups of insignia and logos of the costumes.

Black Adam

Johnson has made it so secret that this has been a major passion project for him for years and it's a role that he was born to play.

Although they're still currently in the post-production process, Johnson treated viewers to the opening scene from the movie as he's released from captivity. Originally scheduled for December release of this year, the Black Adam film was inevitably delayed to next summer. Next year will definitely be the summer for Dwayne Johnson and DC as not only will be playing Black Adam on screen but he will also be providing the voice of Krypto in DC's League of Super-Pets animated feature film.

Whether or not Billy Batson a.k.a Shazam will make a stealth cameo in the film, fans will have to wait and see.
