John 8 verse 31 and 32: {New Living Bible]

V31: "Jesus said to the people who believed in Him. ' You are truly my disciples if you keep obeying my teachings'."

V32: "'And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free'."

Jesus is defining genuine faith, and Jesus defines it as abiding and holding on to His teaching, It also conveys the idea that a person will not fall away. True discipleship means living Jesus' teachings continuously, and it becomes part of the believer's life, and even more His teachings become a permanent influence and stimulus to every part of our lives.

One thing Jesus is not saying is; we must prove by staying the course that we have good enough faith. Good enough faith is not good enough. Jesus is saying that as we continue in His teachings, then it becomes apparent and obvious that we are one of His true followers.

In verse 32; Jesus is saying, He is the very source of wisdom and understanding in our lives as believers. But not just wisdom and understanding are to be found in this Truth, there is real  freedom as well.

Don't settle for anything less than, what Our Lord and Our Friend is conveying in these scripture verses, to us all.

God Bless.
