The School Library Journal — a frequently referenced source of information for elementary, junior high, and high school librarians — has released its Top 10 Manga of 2021 list. The list, which has no numerical order, includes:

  • Boys Run the Riot Volume 1 by Keito Gaku
  • Adachi and Shimamura Volume 1 by Hitoma Iruma and Moke Yuzuhara
  • Kaiju No. 8 Volume 1 by Naoya Matsumoto
  • Pretty Boy Detective Club Volume 1 by NisiOisin and Suzuka Oda
  • Wondercat Kyuu-chan Volume 1 by Sasami Nitori
  • Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! Volume 1 by Sumito Ōwara
  • Shino Can't Say Her Name by Shūzō Oshimi
  • Kageki Shojo!! Volume 1 by Kumiko Saiki
  • Robo Sapiens: Tales of Tomorrow by Toranosuke Shimada
  • MAO Volume 1 by Rumiko Takahashi

This year's list stated grade levels for the manga, for example the list stated "grade 8 and up" for Boys Run the Riot.
