I make this in a big batch and store it in a protein mix jar. You all know I hate plastic. I reuse it as much as possible.
8 cups of rice
4 cups of broken angel hair pasta (1/2 inch pieces)
15 tablespoons of chicken bouillion(you can use another option if want to skip this)
1/2 cup dried parsley
4 teaspoons of onion powder
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme.
Combine all the ingredients and mix them up. Store in a contianer.
To use:
melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a 12 inch skillet . Add 1 cup of rice mix. Suate until the rice is golden brown.
Add 2 1/4 cups of water and bring this to a boil.
Reduce heat and cover. Simmer for 15 minutes.
So, if you chose not to add the chicken broth powder. Simply, replace 1 cup of water of chicken, beef, or vegetable broth.
This also works well with gluten free pasta.
Kids love this.
