Daily writing prompt
Tell us about the last thing you got excited about.
As an adult, I was not a dog person. I had a dog with my great-grandmother, however, it was my grandparents' dog. When I returned to my birth parents, we had a puppy for about a minute. In Junior High, I was given a beagle who was hit by a truck. My life in New England never afforded me the opporunity to have a dog. We moved out West to a rural area where it was easy to have a dog. Over the summer, we lost 2 dogs. One by an accident, cars, and dogs are never a good mix. Our older dog quickly became very ill. We lost her. I swore I would never have a dog again.
I was on Facebook and a post with a Goldendoodle puppy came up in my feed. Mind you, I loved Stella, but we didn't pick each other. Stella was a rough puppy for me, it took quite a while for us to bond and she was stubborn. The breeder simply brought her to me. I have always thought the dog should pick you.
So, we decided to go get a puppy. There were 6 puppies. I wanted a female. Well, Daisy immediately came to me with a big smile. I am her person. She is friendly. In less than a week, at 9 weeks, she is housebroken, she can sit, she knows her name, and can shake. She is a bit naughty as puppies are, but her temperament is very sweet.
