The Boys is revving up for its third season, ensuring that fans will have even more of the filthy language, graphic violence, and chaotic fun that the show has provided so far. The massively popular Amazon Prime Video streaming series based on Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson's Dynamite comic is not for the faint of heart, but that didn't stop the throngs of fans waiting to get into the retrospective New York Comic-Con panel Friday evening.
The panel, which took place in the new Empire Stage area of the Javitz Center featured Antony Starr (Homelander), Chace Crawford (The Deep), Erin Moriarty (Starlight), Jack Quaid (Hughie), and Karen Fukuhara (The Female).
From the jump, Starr won the panel. The actor was charming, hilarious, and incredibly likable, a far cry from the psychotic supe he plays on-screen (a testament to his acting chops for sure). The entire cast was supremely personable, sharing stories from how they were cast to favorite moments filming the first two seasons. There was much discussion about The Deep's unfortunate plot points, from gill fingering to dolphin mishaps. The cast also shared their personal experience with that giant whale, and Quaid and Moriarty discussed their pterodactyl impressions on set that annoyed nearly everyone.

The show-stealer, of course, was Starr. When discussing which costume they'd like to try on, many chose Starlight's various looks. Starr, however, took it to a new level:
"I would like to try on Starlight 2.0 but I'd probably let Jack loosen it up a little first. Slip on in there when it's nice and slick and sweaty and cajole around set like a f*cking demon."
The castmates chatted about how they got through the pandemic (lots of wine and candy). Many belly laughs ensued, especially after Fukuhara overshared how Flamin' Hot Cheetos "were not kind" to her butthole.

They all genuinely seemed to like each other, and their banter and jokes were just like any other group of friends being goofy and having a good time. While no one slipped any news about Season 3, the panel was a great experience for fans of the show and a refreshing hour of fun. Despite the fact that there were hundreds of people, you felt like a welcome member of their dysfunctional little family.
