God is love, and he chose to put a wonderful love song in His Word.

1 John 4 Verse 17: {Message Bible}: "God is love. When we take up permanent residence in s life of love, we live in God and God lives in us".

In this beautiful book Song of Songs, a bride and groom alternate professing their love for each other, but with friends chirping in every once in a while.

It is a journey through their relationship, passing through their engagement, their wedding and their marriage. It is a love song with passion, longing and attraction.

The Groom is captivated by the brides beauty. The bride is captivated by his strength. To him, she is 'a lily among thorns". To her, he is 'Outstanding among ten thousand.'

The couple fixate on each other when they are together, and they pine for each other when apart. What theses lover have many would want to trade for.

While this is a love song between a bride and and a groom traditionally. It is also a picture of the love relationship between God and His people, of Jesus and His Church.

Jesus is the bridegroom coming back for His church {body of believers}, which is being prepared to be His bride.Revelation 19 verse 7:

"Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him glory! for the wedding of the lamb has come and His bride made herself ready".

The intensity of love, the song is a picture of this, but it is also a picture of the intensity of God's love..

In verse 8 verse 7: "many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it way". God;s love is like a relentless rush of waters that can not be stopped

.In verse 8 verse 6: "Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm". God wants us to place Him like a seal over hearts, because He has created us for that.

Our Lord and Our Friend, is a God who wants deep closeness with us, as we read Song of Songs afresh, let us all understand how much we are loved by the creative God.
