Just a little introduction of myself, I work at Rotherham Opportunities College, and I am the DFN Project SEARCH Tutor/Teacher, where I work on the supported internship programme.
I am writing this email to invite you to our Project SEARCH interest event on the Wednesday 1 February 2023 starting at 10am until 12pm. Our interest event is aimed at young people looking for their next steps after school/ further education, this is in partnership with DFN Project SEARCH.
DFN Project SEARCH is a transition to work programme committed to transforming the lives of young adults with a learning disability and autism or both. They partner with organisations across the public, private, and voluntary sectors to create supported employment internships for young people in their last year of education, helping them to take positive first steps into the world of work.
We would like to extend this information for the students, parents and careers advisors who would like to know more about the next steps for young people and get the opportunity to find out what the supported internship covers.
This event will include:
- A talk about what Project SEARCH supported internships are
- An opportunity to meet with all three providers Gulliver's Valley, ICB (NHS integrated Care Board) and NEXT (Doncaster Distribution) and a chance to speak to their representatives on the day
- Will include interactive activities from all different providers
- A chance to speak to current interns/ previous interns
- Will include refreshments for all attending
- Chance to meet the Teachers and Job coaches based at each site
Any questions please do not hesitate to get back to me.
If you would like to attend, please email me back with your confirmation and approximate numbers of attendees.
Kind regards,
Chloe Granger
