Dealing with Difficulties – Frustration
Some definitions of frustration:
- The feeling of being upset or annoyed as a result of being unable to change or achieve something
- The prevention of progress, success, or fulfillment of something
People who are frustrated usually become irritable and stressed. Some of the typical responses of frustration are losing your temper; and things such as tapping fingers constantly and perpetual sighing.
True worship involves speaking the truth. The truth includes how we feel, no matter how downcast our emotions might be. Frustration is not a sin, it is an emotion, that may cause us to sin. Our Father God wants relationship with us, and He wants us to be real with Him.
The Bible is a complete resource book, and it presents a number of incidents of people, who brought their anger and disappointment or pain to God. None of us are immune because we live in a fallen world and are in a spiritual battle. God created us with emotions which help us express ourselves to each other and to God. Let's pour out our hearts before the Lord.
Psalm 62 verses 5 to 8 TPT "I am standing in absolute stillness; silent before the One I love, waiting as long as it take for Him to rescue me. Only God is my Savior, and He will not fail me. For He alone is my safe place, His wraparound Presence always protects me as my Champion Defender. There's no risk of failure with God! So why would I let worry paralyses me; even when troubles multiply around me? God's glory is all around me! His wraparound Presence is all I need, for the Lord is my Savior, my hero, and my life-giving strength. (verse 8) Trust only in God every moment! Tell Him all your troubles and pour out your heart-longings to Him. Believe me when I tell you – He will help you!"
Look at Habakkuk 1 verse 1 to 17 read it all for yourself, but here is verse 2 "How long, Lord, must I call for help and You do not listen." Frustration with God? Habakkuk was telling God know how he felt. That is what we need to do; because Our Lord and Our Friend is there to help us. He wants us to grow through the storms of life, with His help, and develop an overcoming attitude.
Another example: Paul, in Romans 7 verse 14 to 25. Paul, whose internal conflicts speak to us to be open to God with our emotions.
Let's bring your innermost hostilities, fears and frustrations to God. Where better to take all these hurts? If we bury them inside us, they will only fester, and sooner or later may come to cause us great harm, and effect those around us. As we come, remembering He is Our Lord and Friend, then our act of surrendering all to Him will enable Him to give us the help we need.
God Bless.
