Forgiveness is not a feeling --------- It is a release.
Ephesian 1 Verse 7: "In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses according to the riches of His grace."
Forgiveness of our trespasses according to the riches of His Grace. Available to us all if we call upon His name.
To pray is to change. Prayer is the glorious way God uses to transform us.
If we are unwilling to change, we will abandon prayer and focus on our own lives. Our focus should be to want more of Him.
Ephesians 3 Verse 16: "I pray that He may grant you, according to the riches of His Glory. To be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man {or woman}."
The nearer we come to the heartbeat of God, the more we see our need and the more we desire to be more like Him.
Consider the cross. Jesus took on the form of a man but was God; offered forgiveness in the pain and agony. He didn't have to suffer, but He did so that we could be forgiven for all the things that stopped us from achieving His eternal plans and destiny for our lives.
Ephesians 3 Verse 17: Tells us to let the Messiah dwell in our hearts. Being rooted and firmly established in love.
Forgiveness means that you will not hold that failure or hurt against anyone. It means that you don't bring up past failures. It means you recognize that Christ has already paid for your sins (wrong doings). Because God has forgiven you, you can choose to forgive others. Allow yourself to be transformed by the power of forgiveness, Our Lord and Our Friend has made available to us through the riches of His love for us all.
God Bless,
OFJ
