| Homemaking in the Dunes Nov 10 | Cost of diner for 4 people plus leftovers or seconds: 8.85 Please note I made the chicken thighs with lighter skin, I have two kids in braces now. The aspargus is home grown and the last of our crop. I made a simple risotto cost 6.00. The pomogrante seeds are from a whole pomgrante 2.00 and 85 cents of walnuts. The chicken is homegrown. This is a very filling meal. I had the risotto alone with vinagerette and left over squash with a salad. It is not difficult to eat vegan or vegetarian in a family of raging carnivores. There are 4 shelves in my temperature controlled garage. I am always in awe at the end of canning season and equally in awe when I see my empty jars at the end of July. There are so many vegetables, fruits, sauces, soups that I have canned this Summer and Fall. Think for a moment of all the jars and waste from cans, boxes,and jars. I only have to deal with a lid that wash and donate to schools and day cares for crafts.
