Transformation from Psalm 143: Talking with God.
V 1:"Lord, hear my prayer. In Your faithfulness listen to my plea, and Your righteousness answer me".
If we read on Psalm 143 Verse 2 to 6:
The basis for David's prayer was character of God, His faithfulness and righteousness. God is righteous in all that He does because He is holy, and He is faithful to His covenant and His promises. We plead these same attributes when we confess our sins to Our Lord and Our Friend and claim His forgiveness.
V 7: "Answer me quickly Lord; my spirit fails". What were the answers for which David was waiting anxiously? The same answers as we want to receive today.
We want to see Gods' face. Numbers 6 verse 22 to 27: The priestly benediction declares that God's face would shine on His people in gracious blessing.
We want to hear God's Word. The Word reminds us of God's unfailing love. and His Word strengthens our faith. Romans 10 verse 17: "So faith comes from what is heard".
We want the blessing of experiencing the protection of God. Psalm 143 Verse 9: "I come to you for protection".
In recent years, social research have begun to take seriously the influence of prayer.
Pray is not one way chatter with God, it should be the way we converse with Our Lord and Our Friend.
God speaks through His Word: Psalm 143 Verse 8: "Let me experience Your faithful love in the morning, for I trust in You."
If we read Psalm 143 from verse 8, it is about conversing with Our Lord and Our Friend, and trusting Him with our lives.
God Bless.
