You would think as a lover of storytelling , I would love everyone's story, not so much. We were in the grocery store this morning, I was picking up some things I knew to be on clearance today, one of the clerk always texts me a heads up, An older man simply could not stop bending my ear, I felt as though I would never be able to pull away. He was behind me in line as well. I simply didn't have the patience or grace this morning.
Clearance shopping:
Tofu 25 cents a package I bought 20 5.00 (I make a lot of desserts of this and other dishes)
Brown rice 25 pounds 3.50
watermelon radishes 5 for 1 (Iam on a food jag with these right now, I love them)
A large bag of produce was 10 dollars.
I spent just under 15 dollars
The used bookstore closed today for good. I brought home 3 boxes of books that I will use for this year's and next year's homeschooling year. They had placed an ad on Facebook Marketplace.
I ended up picking up some free canning items, some black walnut planks, a pop up gazebo, and a patio set. All of this was in new condition. Facebook market place is a wonderful. Zero waste is important to me for many reasons. I like putting things to use. We dropped off several bags of clothing and shoes to Catholic Charities.
I went to in-person Mass tonight. Dinner is late tonight. I am not in the mood to do a Youtube cooking video. I am making a basic roasted chicken dinner, quinoa, butter beans, roasted squash, and mixed vegetables. I am not eating meat again. I go through those periods where I simply do not want to eat meat.
Our dog has another hot spot. This time on her face, I washed it up and used the spray from last time the vet gave us. I think it might be a fox tail that irritated her face. I called the vet, he is not available until Monday. I have a call in to the vet we do not like.
Our sow had a litter of pigs early this morning. We also have a goat ready to kid in a few days.
Zero waste kitchen hacks for today:
4 gallons of chicken and vegetable broth
Spices mix for : taco seasonings, yogurt and oatmeal topping, salt-free herb seasoning and I made a year supply of vanilla.
