Stewardship
1 Corinthians 4:1-2 "Let a man regard us in this manner, as servants of Christ and servants of the mysteries of God. In this case, moreover, it is required of stewards that one be found trustworthy."
Stewardship touches every area of our lives, including our time and talents as well as our treasure. Stewardship is faithfulness (opportunities, interests, skills, employment, family, talents, spiritual gifts, land, money) for His glory.
The theme of stewardship is seen from Genesis 1-2, where God made the man and woman to be stewards of the planet, to Revelation 21-22, when God will make His children stewards of the new creation.
The pattern of our lives is shaped by the decisions we make, and the greatest of these decisions is : Am I lord of my life, or is Christ Lord of my life? We each are given free will to choose. Holy Spirit has come to teach and lead us in making wise choices each day.
Roman 12:1-2 The Living Translation "And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice – the kind He will accept. When you think of what He has done for you, is that too much to ask? Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect His will really is".
Remembering, we are created for relationship – with our Lord and Friend and with others, stewardship is interwoven with our purpose . Quote -"the place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world's deep hunger meet." As we grow in our calling and purpose, we come to realize that God's good pleasure is also our good pleasure.
