The Transfiguration can be read about in Matthew 17 Verse 1 to 8, and it reveals four aspects of the glory of Jesus Christ the King.
The Glory of His person. As far as record are concerned, this is the only time Jesus revealed his glory in this way while He was on the earth. The word in verse 2, translated "transformed' is our English word "metamorphosis." Metamorphous is a change on the outside that comes from the inside. Our Lord's glory was not reflected but radiated from within. Hebrews 1 Verse 3:
The Glory of His Kingdom. The presence of Moses and Elijah is significant. Moses represented the law, and Elijah the prophets. All the law and prophets' points to Christ and are fulfilled in Christ. Luke 24 Verse 27:
The Glory of the Cross. The disciples had to learn that suffering and glory go together. Peter had o[opposed his going to Jerusalem to die., so Jesus had to teach him that apart from His suffering and death, there could be no Glory. Glory that would bring Ne Life to anyone who will believe.
The Glory of His submission. It was hard to understand why the Son of God would submit to evil people and be willing to suffer. The Transfiguration was Gods' way of teaching that Jesus is glorified, when we deny ourselves, take up the cross, and follow Him.
Against word philosophy that is save yourself. As Jesus stood there in His Glory, he was proving to His disciples that surrender always leads to glory.
God so loved the world in this way, He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life".
Jesus gave it all for us, and by us giving our all for Him, we glorify Him again.
God Bless.
