According to her, after consultations with her constituents, she has decided to withdraw from the race. The statement read in part: "I remain resolute as I continue to relish the opportunity to serve Nigerian Women in my capacity as Minister of Women Affairs under the able leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari. "Consequently, I wish to inform you all that following broad-based consultations and interventions from critical stakeholders, I have decided to withdraw from running for the senatorial seat, mindful of our accomplishments and the notable progress we have recorded under my stewardship at the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs." The Command's Spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the development to newsmen on Sunday. Hudeyin said, "The victim is David Sunday Imoh, aged 38. The incident occurred on Thursday, May 12, 2022. "Four persons have been arrested. A manhunt for the fifth person is ongoing and investigation is still on." The statement came after reports about Imoh's death surfaced on the social media platform, Twitter. #JusticeForDave was one of the top trends on Twitter on Sunday as Twitter Users pushed for an investigation into the killing and for justice to be done. Multiple reports and videos on Twitter showed Imoh being killed by a mob. The sad incident happened in the Oniru area of the State. Sources said the arsonists entered the premises on Sunday night to perpetuate the act, burning down all files, properties in the secretariat, including the secretariat building. Videos and pictures circulating online showed that the entire buildings were reduced to rubbles, while vehicles parked inside the Local Government secretariat were also burnt to ashes. The State Police Command has also confirmed the development, attributing it to unidentified arsonists. DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, the spokesperson of the State Police Command said: "Yes, the incident was confirmed, and our men were there to restore normalcy.
