[New post] Transitionning: Are you comfortable in your life, or living in your comfort zone?

Ghislaine t Vode Are you comfortable in your life, or living in a comfort zone? I'm here to provide a follow up on our conversation started last Season (see the post "your comfort zone is not your happy place" on my blog in bio) about transitionning in challenging times, away from our comfort zones. We all need a transition zone in life; a place where we are still sorting out all the lessons we ve learned thus far; and deciding which lessons are still safe to keep learning from while moving on. And that zone of transition is definetely not a comfort zone. If you are living right now the kind of life that keeps you inspired, and looking forward to what's ahead, and you are pushing torward it, i want to congratulate you. For those of us, leaving our comfort zone right now, wondering what people think of you, here is one reason to care…less…: no one can be you.  People either love you and find a way to prove it to you. Or they don't love you and don't care what happens to you. Comfort zones are usually not happy wandering places. They just feel safe and keep us waiting on life. My encouragement is for you today. A comfort zone reminds me of a crowded closet: Somehow, you feel safe seating in that closet, having so many things (questions, issues) that you are hanging on to. But deep inside, you know, that you won't use it all. You know that you don't need it all.  And you know that you have outgrown that place (need better), and it is turning into a real (bigger) issue for you. What keeps most people in a comfort zone is the pressure we get from society, when we are ready to start things over or in the process of pursuing them. Sometimes, we end up comparing ourselves, our background, where we are in life, to other people. Other Times, we are trying to do better or be better than others. Other times, we could still be living in a comfort zone for lack of trying anything bold, daring, yet more fullfilling, in life. Know what i mean ? Life has a way of reminding us to fight back; not just in order to get the things we want, but also to keep what we already have.  The hard part about fighting back is figuring out what's worth keeping, and keep pushing. What if i told you that your life is bigger, greater, than your  "crowded"closet? Refocusing on your journey is totally possible. Make the experience as unique as possible. Make it about you. Take that step forward, drawing the line between who you are, what you've done, and what has happened to you and what you are still looking forward to. Be on your own team. Stand by your own side. And prepare for better. Remember that your story is connected to your journey. It's about your inspirations, your struggles, your doubts..: your life. Never make it about other people, until you've witnessed the changes that it brings into your life; and you are open to sharing it for more people to be inspired by it. Happy journey transitionning …. Comment Like You can also reply to this email to leave a comment. Unsubscribe to no longer receive posts from Transitionnelle. [New post] Ashley Gantt again drubs HD 109 incumbent in fundraising, spending war

Ashley Gantt again drubs HD 109 incumbent in fundraising, spending war Jesse Scheckner Jul 15 For the fifth consecutive month and with a Primary collision fast approaching, Democratic lawyer Ashley Gantt again outpaced incumbent Democratic Rep. James Bush III in fundraising and spending for House District 109. Gantt spent a campaign-high $18,000 in June. While $13,000 of that went to consulting firms MDW Communications in Plantation and Edge Communications in Miami, she poured a healthy sum — about $2,000 — into buying flyers and yard signs to spread throughout the district. She also paid $400 for tickets to a Florida AFL-CIO event. Gantt and her opponent's expenditure pages indicate both are courting the group's endorsement. More than 90 people donated to Gantt's campaign last month through checks of between $10 and $1,000. Most checks were for $100 or less. Just two contributions Gantt took in weren't by personal check: $500 from Louisiana-headquartered government relations firm Garner Ridge Partners and $100 from Miami Lakes accounting firm D Moss & Associates. As of June 30, Gantt's campaign had raised nearly $67,000 since filing in March. Of that, she had $34,000 remaining. Bush, meanwhile, took in just $2,500 in yet another lackluster month of fundraising. Since he began collecting money for his re-election bid a year ago, he's only managed to raise a five-figure sum once. Thanks to limited spending on his part, however, his war chest still holds nearly $36,000. June was Bush's biggest month of spending yet this cycle. He paid out more than $5,000. Of that, $3,000 went to Willis Howard, a political strategist with a prolific background of work in North Miami Beach who last year ran the successful campaign of U.S. Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick. Bush also spent $1,300 on canvassing and $200 on a Florida AFL-CIO event. His modest gains last month came through three donations, including a $1,000 check from limited liability company Lavi Touring — misspelled as "Levi Touring" on Bush's contributions ledger — and $500 from Poe Cleaning Services. Both are based in Sunny Isles Beach. Bush's campaign cited a second $1,000 donation from a company called "Se Lavi Productions LLC" that operates out of the same building as Lavi Touring, but no record of such a company exists on the Florida Division of Corporations website. HD 109 is a Democratic-leaning district spanning north-central Miami-Dade County, including parts of Miami, Hialeah, Miami Lakes, North Miami, and Opa-locka. Since no Republican is running in the district, whoever wins the Aug. 23 Democratic Primary will take the HD 109 seat. Candidates faced a July 8 deadline to report all campaign finance activity through the end of June. Comment Unsubscribe to no longer receive posts from Florida Politics - Campaigns & Elections. [New post] Leadership Blue 2022 not the usual big Democratic shindig

Leadership Blue 2022 not the usual big Democratic shindig Wes Wolfe Jul 15 Florida's political world is centered on Water Street in Tampa for the next few days, with the Florida Democratic Party's Leadership Blue events across said street from the Moms for Liberty event which drew Gov. Ron DeSantis, First Lady Casey DeSantis, U.S. Sen. Rick Scott, two former presidential cabinet secretaries and a host of others. So, it's not the typical Leadership Blue Weekend, despite the usual scheduled breakout strategy sessions, caucus meetings and various afterparties. As soon as the breakfast event with DeSantis ends this morning, FDP Chairman Manny Diaz will lead a news conference taking aim at DeSantis' education record. "While DeSantis is focusing on elevating his national profile, pandering to Fox News viewers, and stealing Trump donors in preparation for his presidential ambitions, Florida is ranked 43rd in education funding, 48th in average teacher salary, and faces a teacher shortage," according to an FDP news release.  Diaz will be joined by Brevard County School Board member Jennifer Jenkins, Hillsborough County School Board member Karen Perez, and Democratic Public Education Caucus President Scott Hottenstein. Economic struggles in DeSantis' Florida will the the topic at a Saturday afternoon press event hosted by SEIU Florida and featuring Democratic gubernatorial candidate and U.S. Rep. Charlie Crist, along with state Sen. Lauren Book and Democratic state Attorney General candidate Aramis Ayala. "With just months left in the 2022 election season, the event comes at a critical time for working families who are struggling to pay their bills and provide for their families due to skyrocketing rent hikes and surging housing costs, rapidly increasing gas prices and stagnant wages," according to an SEIU Florida statement. "Many working Floridians are also struggling for access to paid sick time, vacation time and quality affordable health care. Florida's hospitals and nursing homes are also facing critical staffing shortages and retention issues, jeopardizing the quality of care for seniors and families in Florida." Among the panels set for the weekend is one on reproductive rights Saturday morning with Book, state Sens. Loranne Ausley, Janet Cruz and Audrey Gibson. Joining them will be Senate candidates Raquel Pacheco (Senate District 36), Janelle Perez (Senate District 38) and Eunic Ortiz (Senate District 24). The Democratic Black Caucus of Florida presents a panel on, according to state Sen. Shevrin Jones, "how we bring the 'kitchen table issues' to the Black community," later Saturday morning. On the panel are Ayala, Gibson, Jones, House Democratic Leader-designate Fentrice Driskell, 23rd Congressional District candidate Allen Ellison, state House District 69 candidate Ashley Gantt, with moderator and former state Rep. Sean Shaw. The speaker for this year's gala dinner is Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, who notably has a second home in Florida. "Florida is in dire need of a pro-choice, Democratic governor, and Governor Pritzker is proud to support the Florida Democratic Party in their efforts to flip the state blue," a Pritzker campaign spokeswoman told Politico earlier this week.
