"For 24 hours every month, I hate my family," writes Vanessa Kroll Bennett today. "Two days later my period arrives. At which point, I am relieved because it means I didn't actually hate them, it was just my period. This happens EVERY SINGLE MONTH. I have been menstruating for 35 years. You'd think I'd get the hang of this period thing by now." But, as it turns out, she's still adjusting to her body. And now as her teen daughter embarks on her journey, Vanessa is learning to suss out what it all means and how she can teach her daughter to really know her body.
A lot of us are in that age where our kids are becoming teens, and there's a lot of soul-searching going on as a result. Add this to the list.
I don't know about you, but I love me a holiday romance book. And it turns out Emily Weaver does, too. She writes, "Whether you're looking for a lighthearted storyline to distract you from the busyness of the holidays, or you're in desperate need of a break from murder mysteries, these holiday romance novels will help get you through the new year." Enjoy!

I know I'm probably talking to a bunch of people who have been married or partnered up for quite some time, meaning all real romance likely left years ago. So believe when I say I was not just a little bit relieved to read this piece about farting in front of your significant other. We all do it, intentionally or not, and frankly at a certain point life isn't worth living if you're not keeping it 100. Whether you fart in your sleep, or while fully awake and watching a movie, it happens. Now we just have actual expert-backed conclusivity that it ain't all that bad.
The headline of this piece alone stopped me in my tracks. Today, Nadie Baird lets it all go in this telling tale of toxicity (yes, I do love alliteration, why do you ask?). It's a warning sign to those of us on the periphery of toxic relationships, and a beacon of hope for others who are deeply in it.
