Universal Orlando Resort just opened their fan-favorite Halloween event, Halloween Horror Nights, this past weekend, and after a few slow weeks at the theme park, we finally saw a surge of Guests visit the spiking haunted house wait times.

When the event is not running, both Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Florida will run as usual, but it seems that the crowds at the parks are still rather small. Of course, the Halloween event attracted a different crowd of Guests as it is not a kid-friendly event. With school back in action, many families are not currently vacationing to Central Florida. With the busy season coming to a close, we are seeing both crowds and wait times dwindle.

We have previously reported on short wait times. Still, now that spooky season is underway, we wanted to see if those wait times would become any larger as more Guests will visit the parks during the day and stick around for Halloween Horror Nights in the evening. Even with the premier event selling out this past weekend, it seems that day Guests are not experiencing the same level of crowds and wait times.
When looking at the wait times on the Universal app, things are not looking hectic. Below, you can see thrill attractions such as Doctor Doom's Fearfall is only a 5-minute wait.

Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure is a 45 minute way, which is shorter than its usual one hour + wait time, on top of a virtual queue. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is only 10 minutes, and Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is only 20 minutes.

VelociCoaster, Universal's newest and most thrilling ride, is at a tiny wait of 20 minutes, with Men In Black Alien Attack only at a 10-minute wait, following Revenge of the Mummy at 15 minutes.

The Incredible Hulk Coaster and Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts are both top-rated attractions with only a 15-minute wait.

Considering Universal does not currently have a capacity limit at their parks, it seems that the reason for the lack of Guests is likely due to the time of year and slower season that comes after summer. At the moment, Universal Guests are not required to wear masks while at the parks but are encouraged to wear them indoors. The low wait times make this a fantastic time to visit the theme parks as you can hop on every attraction you want and then enjoy Halloween Horror Nights on select evenings with the purchase of a ticket! There truly is so much for Guests to do.
What do you think of these low wait times at Universal Orlando Resort?
