Four fantastic WoMo interviews

HEY WOMOS

It's feeling distinctly autumnal now and I'm very grateful to have had the chance to jet off to Mallorca for a mini break to soak up a bit of sun with great friends. It has been a classic WoMo juggle - relying on fab family and friends to help with the little chap back home, and carrying on with work zoom calls whilst here, but it's been blissful. Us WoMos need to grab any time like this that we can!

This week we've got four brilliant WoMos for you to meet:
Also, a little reminder to check out and share about our tech platform which is changing life for WoMos everywhere. It's a subscription platform that sits between the employee and the employer, supporting the life changing journey of having a baby. Check it out here >

MEET THE WOMOS: FAYE

I am the Founder of multi-platform business, Beauty Bulb. We are a flexible destination that supports beauty brands with sales growth via our digital tradeshow, consultancy and workshops. I started the business to try and enable me to continue working in a flexible way after an infertility diagnosis and during fertility treatment. Fast forward 4.5 years and we are very fortunate to have Fraternal Twins, Edie and Joey who turned 2 last month. Our childcare situation is a good mix spread over 3 days. We are very lucky to have support every week from all of their Grandparents. Our parents have them one day a week and then they go to nursery one day a week. I then tend to work for an hour or so each evening once they have gone to bed.

Here's a taster from her interview:

What is the one piece of advice you could offer another WoMo?

"Don't worry about what anyone else is doing. Do what makes you and your family happy. Working, not working, part time working, childcare, your schedule or your working hours or location. Each to their own. No one else knows your situation, your parenting plans or style, your work role, personal goals or career goals. Find a balance that suits you. My own definition of success is having a balance that allows me to be with my babies as much as possible whilst building my business. For me, success is not about job titles and money. Nowadays, success to me is about always striving to live a life that has some balance and makes all four of us happy."

MEET THE WOMOS: KARISHMA

I am a mindset coach with a focus on working parents and a soft spot for new mums. I help women transition back to work following maternity leave, in a way that gives them the freedom to enjoy their family, while showing up powerfully at work. I also help parents thrive through transitions in their life, managing the impact on family and oneself.

My daughter is 9 and my son is 6, so they are now at an age where they are at school for most of my working day. I tend to plan my day so that coaching sessions are held during their school hours, as interruptions when a client is on their way to a breakthrough would be a disservice to my clients! Once I pick them up from school and spend at least 1 hour with them, I can then jump onto collaborative work calls, do my own personal work, etc.

Here's a snippet from her interview:

What do you want to teach your kids about working mothers?

"Mothers are more than just mothers. They are people first, and can have their own ambitions outside of the role as a parent. Wanting to work, run a business, or even engage in extra curriculars has absolutely nothing to do with how much a parent loves their children. I want to teach my children that mothers are still individuals who have a number of needs and talents outside of being a parent."

MEET THE WOMOS: JO

Hi, my name is Jo and I am a WoMo to 3 kids, 4 if you include the husband! Zoe is nearly 18, Izzy 16 and Harry is 11. I actually work for WoMo, helping Elizabeth to bring this fabulous product to market. I was a stay at home mum for 18 years, so the launch of my WoMo status has just begun! My background is in sales and communications but most recently I was involved with my husband's build and set up of a new company, which I could easily fit around the kids.

Here's a taster from her interview:

If you had a working mother's anthem or a mantra, what would it be?

"If you want something doing, ask a busy woman" or "under promise and over deliver."

MEET THE WOMOS: KATIE

I'm the owner & founder of Scrummy Tummies which is baby-led weaning brand. I am married and together with my husband we have a 2 year old daughter called Ella.

Here's a snippet from her interview:

What have you learned about yourself as a WoMo?

That you can't be an expert in every area of running your own business and actually sometimes it's worth paying for someone else to do something that might take up a lot of your time. This then allows me more time with Ella.
