This is the second anime I've watched in the last twenty-four hours that's part of an upcoming mixed-media project, and I'm just a little bit annoyed that I liked this one only a little bit less than I liked the last one.

The problem is that it's cute, and the girls are clearly friends and they clearly have fun doing their hockey thing while the coach/manager/whatever tries to figure out how to make this into an idol anime without their realizing. The OP is done as a stage performance on the ice, which was extremely jarring because nothing really gave away that it was the OP until the title card popped up at the end. The girls just… changed their clothes and started doing a dance routine.

if someone had done this after beating me in a game during high school i would be in prison

Not much happened in this premiere beyond that – it was mostly interested in introducing the characters, with only one love realization (for hockey, not for a person) in the whole episode. It's sweet, though. I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes.

too bad it's ~october~
