Halloween season is upon us and it is OUR FAVORITE TIME OF YEAR. When you think of Halloween, you think of scary movies, haunted houses and pumpkin carving - all activities that aren't exactly kid-friendly, especially young ones. We have personally struggled as a family to find Halloween events catered to littles, but after some deep-diving WE FOUND THEM. Grab your skeleton shirt, pack up the kids and take on the list we have compiled below - we even did the extra step of organizing by budget HAPPY HALLOWEEN MONTH!!!
KID-FRIENDLY HALLOWEEN ACTIVITIES *in Los Angeles
Halloween Activities UNDER $25/person
Boo at the LA ZOO - October 1st-31st, 2021 (10am-4pm DAILY *special entertainment and activities on weekends) *FREE FOR GLAZA MEMBERS
One of our favorite spots in Los Angeles, especially during Halloween time. They have pumpkin feeds, themed photo ops, trick-or-treating through out the park and so much more!!! We highly recommend attending, and while you are at it - GET THE MEMBERSHIP!!! Worth it, we promise.
Activities Offered:
Spooky Stroll - a mysterious path of festival decor and spooky photo ops!
Extinct Animal Graveyard - honor the dearly departed special and learn how we can help at-risk wildlife today!
The LAIR - nothing says scary like a room filled with rare snakes, poisonous frogs and venomous lizards.
Wild, Weird and Wonderful Tour - walk the whole zoo for fun halloween decor, creepy displays and fun facts.
TICKET INFO: Must book reservation time for the LA Zoo at this time.
Sea Scare is finally back, we've been waiting for it's return!!! It is scheduled a bit late in the evening for young kids, but we are definitely willing to push bedtime back for this Aquarium's Halloween event. This year they are having a "Haunted Port Theme" that will include games, crafts, haunted maze, skull alley, costume contest and a Trunk or Treat. This small, hands-on aquarium is SO fun for all ages.
This hands-on, children's science center is hosting Spooky Science: Back to Ghoul featuring the Monster Academy event all through-out the month of October Thursdays-Sundays. They will have monster-making lab, dissection stations, tractor trails, pumpkin launch and SO MUCH MORE. We LOVED our last visit there and can't wait to see the Halloween spin on it.
TICKET INFO: Tickets must be purchased ahead of time to reserve your day of admission.
This fun mini-fair is full of family fun. From rides, to food trucks, to local vendors - it is a great Culver City community event. We have attended this in the past during the fall season, we can't wait to see how they theme it for Halloween weekend.
TICKET INFO: Tickets go on sale October 11th at 7:00am
If you follow us, you already know how much we love this family farm. We frequently venture to Moorpark for their amazing u-pick selection & their Fall Harvest Festival is by far the best in the area. From petting zoos, to corn mazes, to delicious food stands, then the PUMPKIN SELECTION…we truly haven't met an Underwood Family Farm pumpkin we didn't like.
Children UNDER 2 and parking are FREE. Seniors (65+), Military, Veterans, & Emergency 1st Responders receive $2 admission discount daily (w/ valid ID). Does not apply to on-line ticket
To say we LOVE this aquarium would be the understatement of the century. We have been to aquariums all over the country and this one definitely makes top five. Join them for the annual children's costume contest, creepy coloring contest, magic shows, underwater pumpkin carving, spooky storytelling, kooky crafts, and eerie animals in the Great Hall.
TICKET INFO: Advanced reservations are required, limited capacity.
We love walking through Descanso Gardens. They have well kept paths, gorgeous landscaping and variety of plants to introduce our kids to. Add pumpkins to this and WE ARE THERE. Carved is a family-friendly event for all ages. They have carved pumpkins lined up along a 1-mile walk through the Camellia Forest and Oak Grove. Along with pumpkins, there will be exciting new oversized sculptures made of sticks and other natural materials. The popular Pumpkin House, a hay maze, and themed food and beverage will all help to create a fun harvest festival ambiance.
TICKET INFO: Must purchase online to reserve an entry time *ON SALE NOW!
For Non-Members: $32.00-$35.00/person
For Descanso Members: $25.00-$28.00/person
