During the Road to Stone Ocean special panel on the Netflix Festival Japan 2021 livestream, it was revealed that the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 6: Stone Ocean anime is scheduled to premiere worldwide on Netflix on December 1, 2021. According to the announcement, the first 12 episodes are being released at once.

David Production is returning to produce the series. Kenichi Suzuki is returning from Parts 1-3 as the chief director, and Toshiyuki Kato is the director. Yasuko Kobayashi is returning from the previous anime to handle the series composition, and Masanori Shino is the character designer. Yūgo Kanno is returning from Parts 3-5 as composer.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 6 Stone Ocean follows Jolyne Cujoh as she goes to prison for a crime she didn't commit, set 10 years after the events of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind.
