A prison of GOLD is still a prison.
The gushing sound of waves touching the sand on the island beach, the sound of birds flying around with beaks longer than their heads, and the green, long trees are surrounding the darkness where Lara is standing from all corners.
It was a prison made specially to tease the Princess of Water and no matter how far she ran, it was difficult to escape the dark imprisoning darkness of the prison.
"COWARD!", yelled Lara falling to her knees. "You will be burned in the hell they mention in the books."
Having no one around wasn't what kept the Princess restless. It was the fact that never once in the past 14 years had she seen the sea.
Since the day she was four years old, she was living in the palace her father sent her to. And though no one ever imagined it to be the prison for the princess because of all the luxury provided to her, Lara always considered it one.
But now, being imprisoned with the mirage-like view all around her was making her heart break. It was hard to stay away from water all these years, but seeing it close to herself and not being able to touch a single drop was making her anxious.
Afterall, the element of water in her needed some comfort; needed some reassurance.
"Does he think that this way I will marry him?", giving up on wasting energy Lara began to talk to herself. It wasn't the first time she was doing so.
She did it the first time when she saw her mother standing in front of her father with her head low.
*Flashback*
"She's our daughter, My Lord.", said her mother, appealing to the King for the sake of her daughter. "She just doesn't know how to control her element."
"When did a water princess ever form ice?", the King replied, without noticing the little figure of princess Lara standing behind the curtains to surprise her parents with the snow figurine she created which looked like a big ball.
It was the most spherical ball she had made in the past 2 weeks after finding out that her hands can create snow.
"She is cursed. If anyone gets to know about her, then she will become the fall of our bloodline.", continued her father without any hint of affection towards her 2 years and 8 months old daughter.
*Present*
It was the farthest memory Lara had down her memory lane.
"Maybe I was meant to be surrounded by all the cold, dark places and cold, dark people. Even though they shine like gold, underneath that golden coating, there lives a dark and cruel being of power." Lara said while trying to stand back up.
"Wait.", suddenly Lara realized something which stopped her in her tracks.
"If I can feel the ground in the darkness, then I can surely find the sides of this prison to break through it."
Lara looked around once again but this time with a smile of victory.
"And they will never know what hit them."
With that, Lara threw her hands to both her sides and a path of ice formed running towards the endless darkness but reaching no side.
Then Lara turned to the other side and did the same. She kept doing it until the fourth try when the ice walkway hit a side and cracked.
"FOUND IT.", she exclaimed and ran towards the wall.
*WHILE IN THE KINGDOM OF WINCIA*
"Why did I have to take her there?" Taehyung has just returned back to the room of Princess Lara.
"Now I will have to get back to Ethiopia to retrieve the gem of Earth before anyone knows." Taehyung was about to leave the room when the doors of the room flew open.
"Happy Birthday, Princess." Came a woman's voice which seemed more exciting than the most exciting things that had happened to King Taehyung ever.
Looking at the Princess' maid, Taehyung twitched and took a step backwards. On the other hand, Sharon's eyes opened wide at the unexpected sight of the King of kings and after a moment, she gave a deep bow to him.
"I apologize for my upfrontness and hasty entrance in the royal room, my highness.", said Sharon in a loud yet sorry tone. "I didn't know you were here."
Getting back to his composure, Taehyung brought the King's face.
"You should be. Turn around and leave the room. Guard the door so that no one enters till you get the command from me or the princess.", said Taehyung realizing that the maid hasn't seen her around the room yet.
I hope she hasn't noticed the absence of the princess.
"Yes, my highness.", with a slight nod Sharon left the room closing the doors behind.
I have to hurry before others catch up with what has happened. Princess might have also been struggling through the prison. I don't know why I got that angry.
Thought Taehyung while jumping down from the window through which he entered the room. He knew every minute in this kingdom meant 36 minutes of hardship for the princess on Earth.
After wasting 2 minutes in a trivial conversation, he made another mistake without realizing it for a moment.
*IN HIS ROOM*
"I need to meet the Queen Mother. She is the only one who has the other gem of earth.", Taehyung started thinking out loud once back in his guest room. "But what will I tell her?"
"Only if I had taken the gem back to me in the orchard." sighs Taehyung, looking completely down with the thought of leaving Lara on earth.
"She must be hating me now. Why did I order Jungkook to imprison her?"
Taehyung once again looks back up and firm his gaze on the moon hanging on the verandah attached to his room.
"I have no time to waste. Not when she must be scared."
With a swoosh of his hand, an aura appeared in front of him projecting rays which grew from the floor and turned colors from white to blue, blue to purple, and purple to pink.
Suddenly a womanly figure appeared in that aura, more like a silhouette. The figure moved towards him and started to form a shape out of the silhouette.
First the right leg and then the whole figure came out of that aura and looked at the King who was bowing down to the woman.
"To what do I owe this honour of being summoned to the king's decree?", asked the woman in her melodious, husky voice.
The one voice that calmed the king down and made him turn his face up.
"Eomma", said the king with the voice of a 6-year-old who just killed an ant by mistake, "I need your help."
"I knew it was a wrong idea to send you here beforehand.", Replied the queen with a twitch in her voice.
She held her hand in front of him and in another moment, a green gem, similar to what Taehyung had lost to Lara appeared in the air above the hand.
"H-how… did you-you…?"
"You became the King two days ago but I have been holding the crown of Queen for 22 years."
If anyone had seen the two, then they would have guessed it right away from where Taehyung got his voice and calm. It was a gift from his mother to him.
"Bring her back before the first morning call goes off.", said the queen, putting the green gem in the hands of Taehyung.
"I will bring her back in less than 5 minutes, Eomma." Replied Taehyung with his bright golden eyes.
But suddenly a white light appeared around the room. And it wasn't the light that surrounded Taehyung.
Both of them looked behind Taehyung and a male figure appeared.
"Lord Jungkook?", asked the queen with a startle.
In response, Jungkook bowed to both the Queen and the King.
"My sincerest regards, Queen Mother… King. But I am afraid you won't be able to bring the Princess back in 5 minutes.", replied Jungkook.
"What do you mean?" Taehyung completely turned his body towards his brother.
"It's true, my King.", Jungkook took a pause before completing his sentence, and added, "The princess has escaped the prison."
Suddenly, there was silence in the room. No one looked at the other and stood there in silence. It was hard for all of them to believe because no one had ever escaped the Prison of Void ever.
After taking in all the information and gaining his composure, Taehyung opened his mouth once again.
"Tell me everything once we get to earth."
And taking the moment to bow goodbye to the Queen Mother both the men dissolved into the white light.
"I hope she doesn't meet him.", said the queen once the light disappeared. "Otherwise it will bring the war from 14 years ago."
