WoMo Newsletter: Tuesday 11th January 2022

Hey WoMos

Happy New Year!  I hope your Christmas and New Year were as you hoped.  I know many Christmas plans were jiggled about at the last minute with isolating family members and Covid cases.

Here we are in 2022.  I don't know about you but I feel 2021 was SO long and yet seemed to come and go in the blink of an eye.  Time is a very strange thing.

I started the year with a visit to my sister who lives in Zurich.  She just had her first baby so I had the opportunity to snuggle a mini person!  It's that time thing again, when I feel in shock that my youngest turns 6 at the end of the month and he was a babe in arms not so long ago.

We have 3 blogs for you in our newsletter today.  One written by me on my experience of sending my eldest on her gap year travels on New Years Day!  That felt like a brutal and exciting start to the year.

Talking about a New Year, Sonia and I are running an event in London this week to help you reflect on 2021 and set your intentions for 2022.  We would love to have you there!  See below for event link.

MEET THE WOMOS: GEORGINA

I am a women's wellness expert. I coach women empowering them to get the most out of their bodies through exercise, nutrition, breath work and meditation.

The end result: a sculpted and toned body at their ideal weight, with a calm mind to match.

My two children are 14 and 24. A son at boarding school and a daughter now working.

So, thank God no child-care issues anymore.

When they were young, I always had my own business, working from home so it wasn't a problem, except in the holidays! These were always a logistical juggle trying to work and entertain the children. Luckily working from home meant I was able to always do drop off and pick up, and be at matches. I always wanted to be part of my children's lives, so I structured my working life accordingly.

Here's a taster from Georgina's interview:

WHAT IS THE ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU COULD OFFER ANOTHER WOMO?

"Always maintain a sense of humour!"

MEET THE WOMOS: ABBY

I'm Abby, the founder of Luna Gray. We specialise in maternity activewear, specifically maternity leggings but hope to branch out into other products soon. Having been working on the business for some time we finally went live in March 2021.

I am the proud mummy to two wonderful boys aged 5 and 2. My eldest son started school in September and my youngest attends nursery twice a week. I try and structure my working week so that I get the admin heavy tasks done when both of them are out the house. The remaining time lacks any structure and is literally a case of fitting in everything whenever there is time to.

Here's a taster from Georgina's interview:

IF YOU HAD A WORKING MOTHER'S ANTHEM OR MANTRA, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

"Working 12-12 what a way to make a living!! – Dolly Parton."
