WoMo Newsletter: Wednesday 26th January 2022

Hey WoMos

Hope you are well muddling through January without too much ado. If you have school age children, I hope you have managed to dodge Covid in your school and things are ticking along.

I feel fully embedded into 2022 now.  Sometimes January drags but it feels like it's whizzing by for me.

We have kicked off our EIS fund raise for WoMo to develop the tech and keep growing the offer to employers to change the way women are supported through maternity.

We are always grateful for your support and empowered by each and every one of you who juggle it all.  The juggle is real!

We feel you, we hear you, we appreciate you and know every day, this community of WoMos inspires me to keep pushing forward with the support we can give to women in the workplace.

Today, have have partnered with Luna Gray who are the gurus when it comes to maternity leggings, we have 2 Meet the WoMos interviews for you and a guest blog from Emily on the joys of keeping off the booze.

MEET THE WOMOS: PATRICIA

I am a psychotherapist and Co-Founder of Nyx Therapies, my children are 17 and 14. I work full time

Here's a taster from Patricia's interview:

WHAT IS THE ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU COULD OFFER ANOTHER WOMO?

"Try to be as organised as possible, treat juggling kids and a job like a military operation. Be always prepared for the worst case scenario and for feeling guilty when missing out on your children's activities or milestones."

MEET THE WOMOS: MARIA

A native of Melbourne, Australia, Maria is one of the UK's leading wellness practitioners who has pioneered a range of treatments and therapies in the London since 2016.

She is a mother of two, as well as a health and fitness enthusiast who has completed five marathons and is training for her sixth race in 2021.

Here's a taster from Maria's interview:

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO TEACH YOUR KIDS ABOUT WORKING MOTHERS?

"Women are incredible and have so much to contribute. If they have faith in themselves and visualise who they want to be and their end goal, they can achieve anything."

DRY JANUARY

2020 and 2021 were disastrous years for so many, wrought with financial, physical and emotional challenges on an unprecedented scale and it is no secret that alcohol consumption and misuse has been on the rise. Now, more than ever, the concerns over mental health are being brought to light as the country and the world suffer from the horrifying impacts of COVID-19.
