National Citizen Service (NCS) is a government-funded programme which aims to bring together young people aged 15-17 and engages them in a two-week programme over the summer.

Rotherham United Community Sports Trust is recruiting Team Leaders and Assistants to efficiently support teams of up to 15 young people over its two-week NCS summer programmes. This is an opportunity to gain experience in a range of environments and situations.

As a Team Leader/Assistant, you will have a direct impact upon participant experience and will be expected to guide, inspire and help to develop your team of young people. You and a Team Assistant/Team Leader will ensure the successful delivery of the NCS summer programme whilst maintaining participant enjoyment, respect and safety throughout.

There are four dates/programmes to choose from – you can work more than one if you wish. Full training is provided prior to programme delivery.

Programme delivery

Week 1: A residential from Monday – Friday where the young people take part in outdoor team building activities such as rock climbing and water sports. They will also take part in skill boosting activities to enhance their CVs whilst away.

Week 2: The young people will plan and deliver a social action project in Rotherham gaining real life and work experience whilst leaving a positive lasting legacy in their community.
